I'm thinking a good strategy with all of the injuries and banged up players would be to sit the starters this week or only play a quarter, rest up get healthy and then in Week 17.

Most likely DA/Jules/Devin/Hightower/Chung/banged up O-line will be out anyway we give the starters a bye and then against Miami we play hard get a week rest and avoid the rust of sitting guys for 3 weeks straight.

It also means that if the Jets win, Chiefs should win that the Steelers or Broncos could be screwed (Steelers even if they win outright or the Broncos if they lose to the Bengals).

I'd sit Gronk. Play Brady for a half. Keep Amendola, Edelman, Chung, Hightower and McCourty
out too

Home field is not wrapped up yet. Play to win this game and then rest against Miami. Plus, it's the JETS, so it would be great for their seasons playoff dreams to end at the merciless hands of the Patriots.

makes sense to me, but most will say go all out to win this week without really thinking it through.
Having guys healthy is more important than beating the jets this week. If Danny and jules are both out, Brady will get killed having to hold the ball too long. Yes, I would start Jimmy G. Miami will mail it in next week and then we will still have the bye week to give guys even more rest.

No victory is guaranteed even against the terrible dolphins. Ideally the games were reversed, because the Jets are a much tougher game and I'm worried for our health against them. Since they aren't its best to win the current game and rest everyone against phins. I do wish BB would throw this game and win next week though. Scared for Brady...

Risk taking it down to a one game HFA elimination scenario just to avoid the fear of _____? That kind of fate tempting may be great for video games but is just a bad bad idea in the real world.

Let me throw out this counter argument: Let's do everything we reasonably can on Sunday to win :)

I would rather have the Broncos in the postseason than the Jets. We can dispose of Denver easily, but a divisional opponent could pose a bigger threat.

Beating the Jets this week accomplishes the goal of locking up HFA, and it also knocks the Jets out of contention.

When teams and players play to not get hurt, they get hurt.

If they have guys whose injuries can be aggravated - Edelman, maybe Hightower, McCourty, Amendola - then sure, limit snaps or sit 'em.

Otherwise, play.

If they took the month off, they'd be soft in the first playoff game. Happens all the time.

It's still the Jets. Beat them at their place, secure home field, and send them into another bitter, desperate offseason to grasp at straws. Woody Johnson has a good thing going right now but needs a 31-10 nudge to set things in motion that will screw it up.

I think the concept looks good on paper, but you have to remember that the Dolphins are a division opponent that often gives us trouble. By sitting players this week you are essentially saying that Miami is an easy win and it will just serve to motivate them!!

You play to win the game!!!

so do you play guys that could possibly play, but would be better off not playing? That is the question...and there are a lot of players that need to get healthy. I do not want #12 to be a sitting duck back there.

people are too hung up on the Jets..the team they are playing is irrelevant to me. This team NEEDS everyone to be healthy.
