49ers Release Cadet

Will we see him back in NE??

49ers Sign RB DuJuan Harris, Waive RB Travaris Cadet 

I still think he is a good fit for this team but clearly isn't better receiver-RB than Lewis, White and even Bolden.

IMO, that ship has sailed. Lewis and White have provided plenty at that position.

White has been playing at a level above Vereen lately and way above anything Cadet could do. I don't think we'll be seeing him back in New England.

We had a small window when Lewis tore his ACL and chose not to pursue him.

Lewis? I wouldn't mind seeing them move Cadet around as a short area receiver if he has any chemistry at all with brady, which is a mystery. He's not really a RB anyway.Lack of healthy Edelman Amendola is a concern for me.

What compelling skills does he bring to the table that our RB corps lacks?

He doesn't. He needed to blow out White or Bolden in camp and didn't.

Only way he joins this roster is if either White or Bolden....y'know....

I, probably mistakenly, assumed the OP meant next season for Cadet. In retrospect, I was likely wrong. If the question is in relation to the rest of this season, perhaps he might come back. Not sure why, but I got the impression somehow that BB soured on Cadet. Could be wrong there, as well.

Actually, was thinking of him more as a slot receiver option in case Amendola needs more rest. Although, Martin seems to be getting the job done and getting open.

Like Kontra said, White seems to be better than Vereen. I think we're fine at third down back.

If Ball can't cut it, then picking up Cadet would be a good idea. As far as White being better than Vereen, well that is something for the future. It's hard to compare a few games with several seasons.

Another guy that was inexplicably overrated on this forum.
