Is this really a play-off caliber offense?

The Patriots are going to have to do a lot better than that if they want to make it to the Super Bowl. I'm sure Brady and Belichick feel the same way.

But I know this team has what it takes to pull out the wins, and I expect the offense to perform better once Amendola and Edelman return from their injuries *cross my fingers*

I'm just saying that's their worst performance of the season. The other top 5 offenses have also had off games this season. It happens to everyone. But if the #3 scoring offense in the league isn't a play-off offense, I don't know what is.

GOAT HC, QB, and TE...add in a healthy Jules and yeah, I think we have a play-off caliber offense.

People were saying this about the offense in the final weeks of the season last year. I remember an ugly outing in San Diego where people were wondering whether or not the offense could score enough points. If they can get Edelman and Amendola back on the field together at least somewhat healthy, I like the offense. The OL's issues from early 2014 were never solved. The Patriots and McDaniels adjusted and had Brady getting the ball out in two seconds or less. Once Edelman went down and Amendola became gimpy, they were exposed again. Getting those two back on the field with Gronk and a healthy Lafell will vault the offense back to the level it was in the 2014 playoffs and early this season. But the key is Edelman. Without him, the defense is going to have to carry the offense through at least one game in the playoffs to win.

I have to say, we have a championship-caliber defense. Like Mike Reiss said, "[t]his is easily the deepest, most talented and athletic front seven in recent Patriots years." Not to mention, the Patriots secondary is playing like no one expected them to play!

However, I can't say the same about the rest of the team - and that goes for special teams as well.

Right now, the offense is battling through injuries and inconsistency. The offensive line keeps struggling with consistency against talented pass rushers. Meanwhile, Brady’s weapons keep getting hurt. And the healthy ones keep dropping passes. In a nutshell, Tom Brady is playing about as well as he can as the rest of the offense crumbles around him. But will it be enough to compete and play in the playoffs?

Your thoughts.....

I think we are used to seeing the Pats offense be much more efficient. They score 30 points and we feel like they left maybe about 3 touchdowns on the board. I think the offense is playing a fairly high clip, just less efficient than we are used to seeing. The Defense is giving them a lot more chances.

I don't understand why you are being ripped for posting this. Before all of the injuries, the Pats had the best offense in the league. Let's say that a month from now, the Pats are playing their first playoff game. Edelman and Amendola will not be 100%. Gronk may or may not be 100%. No Lewis or Blount. Edelman's timing in the offense might not be correct.. Brady said as much during his interview on Monday. The offensive line has been inconsistent all season.

From my perspective, their offense will probably be good enough to win a Super Bowl but who knows for sure.

Getting back key players is critical, imagine if the steelers lost Antonio Brown...they wouldn't be nearly the same team and would not have won last week. Edleman is a big deal for the Pats. Having both a healthy DA and Edelman is even better but I don't think either one will be a 100% e rest of the year. da already couldn't move like normal the last few games. But getting guys on the field will determine how good a playoff team we have.

I think this is a little misleading as our defense scored once and we also scored after a long kick off return by Martin and after an interception as well. I think our defense played a lot better than our offense on Sunday.
Ashley you are only supposed to point something misleading if it makes us look bad...

Not recently, but if Gronk and Edelman are both healthy and the line has had a chance to come together again, yeah, they'll be fine. Especially if White has a chance to come into his own.

That's why I hope we take care of business against the Jets on Sunday and can give a lot of guys three weeks rest and focus on any issues the O line still has in the Dolphins game.
