Is it getting harder to hate the Jets?

Thanx, but you and I both know that rather than being a thread ender, it will just serve as a starting point for Joker, who I have no doubt is feverishly working on his response.

TuneScribe usually has some nice Jet ripping posts. Should be entertaining.

Just remember us snatching BB away from them defeats all of these things.

No, no it doesn't.

The only reason that the Rats had BB on staff in the first place is that he followed Parcells after the Rats tampered with him and stole him.

Then once the Pats requested permission to talk to BB for their HC opening, the Rats twisted BB's arm and got him to agree to contractually be designated as Parcell's replacement.

Not that the Rats weren't interested in making BB the HC until Parcells was dithering about on stepping down, but the Rats made him a consultant in order to keep Parcells, while still blocking BB from going to the Pats

The fact that they had a contact with BB forced the Pats to have to give up a 1st for BB, which the Rats and their fans felt was justifiable revenge on the Pats since the league had so badly mistreated the Rats when they tampered with and stole Parcells.

They are a NY team after all and whatever they want they should be allowed to have.

Remember that this event has been rumored to be the genesis of Mike Kensil's crusade against all things Pats and BB, and led to Spygate, and the witch hunt known as Deflategate.

No Parcells, no Curtis Martin, no Mangini, no Rex Ryan, a head coach who preaches respect ... what the heck is going on out there?

There will ALWAYS be Jets fans.

If they beat us on Sunday, you'll quickly rediscover your hatred.

I can still bring up the hate but it is harder to hate the actual team. Even the member of the team I hate the most (Revis) I can't bring it in me to hate that much. I think overall the team now is a well run and fairly classy organization particularly for football standards when the word classy is thrown around rather liberally.

However as another poster said their fans and ownership leave much to be desired. Though I have had good experiences with many Jets fans but it is a mixed fan based. You get some of the best and some of the worst fans in that mix. However I will say as far as NY football fan bases go the Bills and Giants are clearly superior to them.

I dont understand the hate for revis. He helped us win a sb.. Helped develop butler and left because the jets are morons and gave him qb money. He did us a huge favor by leaving. His skill set has declined and the jets are gonna have to make some changes next year cause of his salary. He is holding our hated rivals hostage with a declining skill set and a ridiculous contract. We should be thanking him.

I answered this in a 28th post in this thread and him leaving has nothing to do with it. I think it is on the 2nd page so should be easy to look up. I hope that makes my reasoning and thoughts more clear.

The people who have run the jets are the reason the Patriots have been taking sh.t and losing draft picks over the past 8 years. They are incompetent and couldn't run a franchise but now run the league and were the reason the idiotic deflategate issue became a national scandal instead of remaining the lonely cries of Grigson and Harbaugh. I want the jets to suffer every year, period. Can't wait for Fitzpatrick to leave this off-season, back to Geno they go. Total Scumbag franchise.

Agreed, but that doesn't excuse the hand slap the Rats got from Goodell.

In addition to the bad contract the Rats must deal with, they should have been forced to swap no worse than 2nd round picks with the Pats, and forfeited an additional pick.

Jets eliminated by team they try to smear - ......

I have a fever and the only prescription is another green check mark....

Hating kills the soul..

Rex made them easy to dislike.

The team has more accountability now as Bowles seemed to get order when the team was unravelling.. If Rex were still there they would not have rebounded in my opinion..

This weekend we give them a true test..
um, you take things too literally. It's all in fun. Well, mostly. :)

I have a feeling about Revis that is unique. I think he's the ultimate mercenary. I don't think he's capable of feelings of loyalty or affection for any team, any teammates or any coaches. I just think he's like an asexual human being. Isn't interested in men, isn't interested in woman, just doesn't care. I've often thought since the Super Bowl that he probably woke up the next morning disappointed that the feeling of having won wasn't more pleasing or gratifying. I think his sole interest is money. I think he's comfortable with the Jets, but I believe if Tennessee had offered him $1 more, he'd be a Titan today. I think he's just a strange (extremely wealthy) dude. Just me.

Exactly, the Jets and their fan base have also spearheaded the movement to discredit all of the Patriot's accomplishments with their "Patriots cheat' campaign.
Actually every fan base has..

Kinda like people used to scream the Yankees bought championships until the Diamondbacks and Red Sox did it..

Why does this fan base get so butthurt over what rival fans think??

As if Jets fans (or any fans)are going to say.. Oh yeah, we are wrong..

That's not how any rivalry works..

I still hate them and will forever. However, I've grown to admire Ryan Fitzpatrick. I think he's good and he gets the most out of his talent. He's tough as nails, in my opinion. My feelings about him are similar to the way I felt about Chad Pennington.
I feel the same way about Ryan and Chad: we can count on them to make one or more piss poor decisions when the chips are down.

But they're becoming like Indy for me, in that it's not really many of the players that are the reason anymore. Its all ownership and the fan base.
Anyone wearing the Jets Green looks moronic to me.

He doesn't work at hating the Jets, it comes naturally to him.

I never really hated them, but they've always been easy to make fun of. With Rex and the Sanchise, there was always something to point and laugh.

But now... they're a good team! Fitzpatrick has been lighting it up. Marshall and Decker are a nice duo! We gotta stay on our toes.

I reserve my NY sports hate for the Giants.
