At the time Animal House was considered pretty revolutionary, and was an offshoot of the incredibly popular Saturday Nite Live... when Saturday night live was really funny.

For me, this season has been bizarre. Normally I'd be thrilled at 12-2, but with all the injuries each win feels like half a win and half a loss. EVERYTHING depends on securing a bye.

We could still lose the last two and end up third seed, couldn't we? I don't know what the tiebreaker is if Cincy goes 12-4.

What am I missing? If Broncos beat the Bengals and then both win their last games, they both finish 12-4. If the Pats lose their last two, they finish 12-4. Broncos beat us because of head-to-head, while Bengals and Pats would finish with identical conference records. Then it would go to a further tiebreaker. It looks to me that the Pats need to win one more or Denver needs to lose one more for a bye to be ensured.

The further tie breaker would be common opponents. We beat Houston but Cinci lost to them thus we would get the 2nd seed over them.

The next tie breaker after conference record is record against common opponents. Bengals lost to both Houston and Pittsburgh while the Patriots only lost to Denver. So regardless of what happens, the Patriots hold the tie breaker.
