LOL... was just thinking the same thing... "Clankerson" is good...

I was also imagining "Shankerson..." Tankerson"... or combining the two and get "Schtankerson"!

Clankerson is the winner for me.

Here is a highlight (and lowlight) video from 2012.
My take..........
Positives:
Pretty fluid for a big guy
Has a little shake and bake and can make the first guy miss
Runs all of the routes
Is a big target for the deep middle/out which the Pats do not have outside of Gronk (Chandler cannot get there fast enough and Edelman and Amendola not big targets).
Fights off man coverage
Good blocker

Negatives:
Hands - dropped a few in his bread basket
Does not lay out for catch
I would like to see him compete more when catch is contested

I wanted Hankerson in FA he seems like he has some upside coming from the U of Miami. Could this Hankerson signing be a message to Brandon LaFell? On Offense if your name is not Brady - Gronk - Edelman even now Amendola you shouldn't feel too comfortable. Maybe this might light a fire under LaFell's @ss. Also with the Drafting of Dobson finding Brian Tyms and getting LaFell last year in FA now Leonard Hanker off waivers all these Guys are 6'2 and up which shows contrary to popular opinion that the Patriots think highly of Big WR's. Hankerson was looking good with a garbage QB Matt Ryan in Eight games what happened to Hankerson in Atlanta?

It's kinda crazy but Hankerson's game looks very similar to Aaron Dobson's I hope he learns the Offense some. One thing I like about Hankerson from the video is that he's not afraid to go over the Middle I like to see that in Big WR's because some of them hate doing that. Great find this late in the year.

I only saw 2 bad drops in the whole clip (4:45 ouch), a few bad throws, but a bunch of tough contested catches over the middle. Not flashy which is fine for the Pats...go get your lunchpail and get in there Hankerson.

Holy crap. I hope I'm wrong and he turns out to be a nice pick-up, but this guy hasn't even played a down yet and is already reaching Adam Seward status around here all of a sudden.

How much experience do you need to run a go route?

Is Hankerson this years Tiquan Underwood???

That "on again"/"off again" feeling is starting to emerge.. again.

You mean the guy who dropped his would be only 40 yard catch and run TD?

Josh is lighting a fire under Slater to see who can fend off a deep pass with arm moves like fending off angry hornets best

Thanks for posting,

Summary - He is at least as bad as Dobson, make most easy catches, doesn't make any hard catches.

Like that he caught a lot of catches in the middle of the field, didn't short arm anything,

Not a burner but seems to understand zones, 1st down markers, situational aspects.

Overall I have modest expectations, if he makes 10 catches for a couple first downs that is likely all we will see from him.

Yeah why can't they find someone better in week 15?

The chances of Hankerson succeeding in this offense this late in the season is pretty much the same as me driving my car from Boston to LA with four flat tires.
Long way to LA but in the end u would make it, so should Hankerson

I think that he is Dobson replacement too. Brady tried to stretch the field with some long passes to Lafell, from Giants game i think it was over 30+ attemps with zero success. Its really bad that Dobson didnt last 3 games more, so we actually see his potential, but he was drafted to stretch the field.
Lafell is great blocker, and different than Hankerson, Dobson, Tyms.
I think the problem in Atlanta is QB Ryan. Does he suck cause Shanahan offense or maybe he really sucks this year.

Blankerson is probably more appropriate than Clankerson. I doubt he'll even see a target to "clank" one.

I was optomistic until I saw that film.

Bad hands, bad in traffic, no RAC, dropped a wide open TD, cut back instead of diving for a first, no separation, can't lay out....what a stiff!!
