LaFell was great last year.

This year he is dropping passes and not finishing his routes consistently enough.

Injuries, more pressure in being a primary target and being defended by better CBs may be a factor.

Sorry but it is what it is....

I love the pickup, not sure he will play though...unjured an all

Brandon ... this is a forum for the fans not the Patriot players ....

Cry to Belichick .... he's on to the Tits and the playoffs and last year is old news.

I've been a fan of Hankerson for a couple years, I thought he was gonna break out when he was with Washington but he didn't. He definitely has potential.

I find it interesting that the Pats are going after so many WRs lately. Seems like an interesting time to do so just a few weeks before the playoffs, plus with Edelman coming back and Martin developing, I don't see a glaring need...

I keep on hearing that Edelman is coming back for the playoffs. Is that official? How do we know this? Not being sarcastic just cautious.

Hankerson broke Micheal Irvin's single season U of Miami record of 11 TD's with 13 of his own. Can't be terrible.

And then there was this tidbit from Atlanta training camp before the injuries set in:
"The Falcons' official website has declared Leonard Hankerson "the best wide receiver at Flowery Branch thus far". His head coach Dan Quinn has also been very impressed and spoke quite highly of him. "I think it's the length, he's got such a big catching radius," Quinn said. "You've probably seen some of the sideline plays, he's got such a knack for keeping it in bounds and going to stretch for the ball, so that's probably one of the biggest things that stand out for me with Hankerson."

Given the catastrophic collapse of the Atlanta offense, Hankerson's (even though he was on IR) release could easily be read as a send-a-message-to-the-team desperation move by head coach Quinn.

Here's more from early in the season before injuries derailed Hankerson's season courtesy of 4for4.com -

Leonard Hankerson caught three-of-six targets for 45 yards in the Falcons Week 3 win over the Cowboys. Even though Hankerson has played on just 66 percent of Atlanta's offensive snaps this season, he has out-targeted Roddy White 17-0 over the last two weeks. (White, meanwhile, has played on 84 percent of the Falcons offensive snaps.) There was a report last week by ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Falcons now view White and Hankerson as their "2 and 2A" wide receivers.

Leonard Hankerson caught 6-of-8 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons blowout win over the Texans in Week 4.

Not that it means a whole lot considering Jules is 10th, but I'm going to leave this article here to temper any expectations:

Link: The 10 wideouts with worst hands in the NFL
That's something I wouldn't have really thought. I know he's had some drops, but never considered it that high of a percentage. Maybe because of the high % of targets? We do know its a different team without him :p

Was reading an article in SI, that has Edelman ranked as a top 10 WR in dropped passes!! Big deal, does that mean he isn't a good WR? Don't need this kid to be Chris carter, just hopefully contribute...

If that is true then why is everyone ragging on Lafell?
