Click on a current coach and see who he is "related" to, all the way back to 1960. Pretty fun!

The NFL Coaching Tree

thanks. that's really interesting. and, in case people missed this feature, you can keep clicking on a Coach's name and go down many "generations"...children...grand children...great grand children...great great grand children...and, in a few cases, beyond.

Most satisfying click? The Rat. his "tree" stops after the first click...shows that he is the "child" of Belichick and Parcells and has but one "descendant." when you consider that he came from the Parcells/Belichick tree, you know that he expected to have a far greater impact on the game by this point in his career. I'm all choked up.

Most amazing clicks? Weeb Ewbank and Vince Lombardi. Eight or nine generations each.

thanks again.

What I do not understand is why they left out Ted Marchibroda(his first coaching assistant job) and Red Miller (when he was an assistant for Denver)...

They also left out guys like Kirk Ferentz(Iowa), Jim Schwarz, Mike Lombardi to name a few..

Maybe I just do not get it..

And, of course, there's Paul Brown, whose tree includes almost all of them.

Semi Interesting little tid bit: Saw the name Lou Saban in the tree and looked him up in wiki.

Lou Saban, the first coach of the Boston Patriots might have been second cousins with Nick Saban.

Lou Saban - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And he's part of the Paul Brown tree.
