It's not something you game plan for. Luckily for us the game ultimately went in the Raiders favor.

The Patriots do. They have Nink practice at LS for emergency situations. I'm sure they even have a 3rd who could perform competently if required. This is why they're the best.

I figured del Rio forgot he'd scored a safety, so he thought it was 13-12.

In fact, I'm sticking with that. LOL

Pretty sure I read that their backup is TE Lee Smith, who recently broke his hand and had a cast, wouldn't be able to snap.

I'm sure every team game plans to lose their Long Snapper, I doubt many teams game plan to have NEITHER long snapper.

Del Rio got caught cutting corners on his coaching and preparedness, plain and simple. How embarrassing.

Would have been a lot less LOL if the Donks kicker hadn't gone doink left ...

So if Condo went down in the first quarter with a serious injury, they'd just go for it on all 4th downs and never punt?

They used old friend TE Lee Smith on the last FG attempt after the 2-pt conversion try.

His snap was bad and contributed to the missed FG.

I found myself wondering who the Pats would use at RB if they had another injury at Rb after Blount.

Blount went out in the 1st half. What if Bolden gets hurt?

So James White carries the load in the second half. With a role his body isn't built for what if he gets hurt too?

Lesson learned, have more than three RBs on the roster.

BB has commented on this. He said it's imperative to always have a practiced backup for every position, sometimes 2 deep. However he also said that a plethora of injuries at one skilled (say LS) position can in a bad storm really kill you.

When did he break his hand? During the game? If it wasn't, that's inexcusable and incompetent. Del Rio should be fired on the spot for that, if they really didn't have anyone taking backup reps as LS.

I think the Pats have an offense that can work around that situation for the better part of a game if needed. hard not to think how good this team would be with Develin and Lewis in though.

Does nobody remember that the exact same thing happened to the exact same team like two or three years ago? The Raiders lost their long snapper early in the season a few years ago, and they had a backup long snapper (a tight end I think), and he was so terrible because of lack of game experience that they had multiple botched snaps and blocked punts. If anything, they probably learned from last time that it's safer to avoid using an inexperienced backup long snapper altogether until you can sign someone good in free agency if you can help it, and only bother in situations where you have no realistic chance at making a fourth down or two point conversion.

They beat the Broncos, that all I care about.:D

That PAT was absolutely monumental. You need to have someone capable of delivering a 7-yard snap in that situation. A 2-point attempt against the best D in the league should not be a better option.

They cant even sign Danny Aiken, but they can still grab former patriot great Tyler Ott
