When dud the Texans become world beaters?
Listening to and reading much of the media around here (including Patriots Wednesday Live right now on Comcast) I'm not sure why the Patriots should even bother to go to Houston. I understand the Pats are under-manned and have played poorly recently, but for Christ's sake when did the Texans become the '07 Patriots?

A lot of Pats fans I've been talking to are also writing of the Texans game as a loss, and I don't get it either.

Ditto. Can't see the Pats losing three in a row. Especialy not dropping the third to a Brian Hoyer led team.

Steelers are going to be a huge factor in these final 4 games.. and a scary team to deal with in the playoffs..

I voted #2 seed but after that stink bomb performance against the Eagles I'm not sure of anything.:(

Seed#3. Brady has gone from completing over 70% to around 50%, i hardly recognize this team anymore. The receivers drops too many balls, no running game, no gronk, no edelman. We may have to settle for 12-4.Of course i can always be proven wrong, which i absolutely love.

When did Philly become world beaters? Texans are much better than the eagles, they are playing at home against a team that has no line and receivers that cannot catch or run the correct routes.

The injuries have officially become too much for the pats to overcome. On top of that I am legitimately concerned that Watt is going to injury Brady because this line is a sieve.

Funny reading these threads after a bad game and looking back at threads 2-3 weeks ago. They'll get it back on track this week and most will be picking them for the 1 seed after Sunday night.

going with 2 until i see what the steelers can do then i will change my mind again

This game lies on two things:

1. O-line showing up
2. Receivers running correct routes and not dropping balls

If those 2 things can be accomplished, we get a 'W'.

I'm gonna say, the 2nd seed. At this point Id be thrilled with just that. We gotta get that bye, even if its just the 2nd seed and not HFA throughout. As long as we go 3-1 I think we get it. This is really not the time to be missing your two *three if you count lewis*best offensive weapons. :(

No chicken little as far as the thread starter goes. I voted the 1 seed. Maybe some of the replies have been pessimistic.

#1. It's hard to see us having anymore major bad breaks. Each of the last 2 weeks its been alot of fluky stuff and bounces against us. Doubt that keeps up. And the team will be locked in now, expect more sense of urgency especially compared to the Philly game where it looked like the players and coaches performed as if they can afford another loss. They likely can't anymore and I expect a major rebound because of it. 14-2, 1 seed

Would be interested in reading your posts after the K.C. game last year. I'm guessing you were a "the dynasty is over" guy.

It's weird because we are all afraid of our offense right now. But we really didn't lose either of those two games because of our offense. (Yes it was not as great as it once was, but it scored enough 28 and 24 to win both of those games.)

We lost those 2 games due to ST, some bad refereeing, and a little bit of (gasp) bad coaching choices. I guess you could argue we scored 14 points late in the Eagles game but so what? The offense scored 28. With the same offensive out puts if we don't have the ST screw ups or the stupid silliness, we will roll over Houston and Tennessee.

I went conservative and gave them the #3 seed, mostly because I do not think Gronkowski ends up playing until the playoffs, and without him, I think wins against the Texans and the Jets will be more difficult to achieve (albeit far from impossible). This is just layman's speculation, so I hope I am wrong.

If Hightower, Easley and Coleman comeback this week and Collins is back to a full compliment of snaps, then the defense is more than capable of holding its own against the mediocre offenses left on the schedule.

Be that as it may, this weekend's game against Houston will be pivotal in the sense that if the Patriots win, then they are in decent shape to potentially grab one of the top two seeds, depending on how the Bengals and Broncos fare in their upcoming games.

If the Patriots lose this weekend, then I think the #3 seed is more likely, barring a collapse by one or both of the Bengals and Broncos down the stretch in their respective games.

Dynasty ended in May of 1989.
