Josh McD isn't head coach material, yet. He was a flop in Denver, and he still isn't ready to be a head coach. Maybe someday, certainly not now or anytime soon. He needs to go spend some time at the college level as a head coach before taking another chance in the pros.

I would feel back stabbed im sure Brady would as well I dont beleive Josh would do that to Tom.

If you were a OC...and had a chance to be a HC again...you would do it..we all would IMO if the situation was right ect

Some people don't want to be Capt Kirk.

Some are content to be Spock, Bones or Scotty.

I think JMD wants the big chair again.

Josh's playcalling has been a little suspect lately....that said, I think it would be extremely hard to replace him w/ another OC. And yes, I think he could be a legit candidate for this team's HC :)

Do you think we stay in house for a new OC?
On the probability he gets to run his own show?

You cannot compare McDaniels, or any coach for that matter, to Belichick. McDaniels, as did Belichick, learned some hard lessons in his first head coaching job. When you look around the NFL, I would be hard pressed to say he cannot do as good or better at that position than many of the people who now call themselves head coach. Coaching this year has been unimpressive, to say the least, throughout the NFL.

He has seen steady employment as a coach in the NFL, was grabbed by the Rams after Denver, then immediately was called back to the Pats. He must be doing something right. But this rumor seems to arise every year, and he could certainly have parlayed last year's Super Bowl run into a job if he wanted one. I guess I will believe this when I see it.

Josh is a guy best fit for NE. His potential coaching style would only work here. If I'm him, I stick it out here and hope to get a shot to take over. Ride TB to a couple more Super Bowls.

I would think this too, except I'm hoping/expecting that BB will be here longer than TB. My armchair speculation has BB coaching for 5-7 more years, quitting around/before his 70th birthday.

Although 70 looks old when I type it.

The value of the NE team would be in knowing how the ownership works.

Mcdaniels and the Titans makes alot of sense as does the Colts and Dolphins.
However I think Titans are his best spot.

My focus has switched; I'm more concerned with losing Patricia.

Our defense has never been so strong or disciplined.

Not to be grammar nazi, but damn, that was a mega-illegible cleanup in aisle five...

I like Patricia. But, this defense is nowhere near our best.

Caserio and Mcdaniels are great friends it was said about 2 years ago the two were a packaged deal.
If BB isnt retiring anytime soon who thinks Patricia will stay around and not pursue a head job.

Let's see that quote about them being a package deal? The only places I am finding it are from douchebags like Manish Mehta and opposing fans who want them, nothing with any credibility at all.

Wait, what? You think Josh McDaniels has that kind of power to 1) tell his new employer who to hire as the GM, and 2) somehow take Caserio away from Belichick and his contract here?

You may be right in the end, but I'm not seeing it.

It's make **** up and act like it's real time.

Colts.

If this McDaniels-Caserio packaged deal is correct, it's the place where it makes more sense. Pagano and that dumb ass GM are gone.

Caserio and McDaniel are definitely great friends, they were team mates at John Carroll, and McDaniel is said to have recommended Caserio to BB.

That doesn't mean Caserio would go with McDaniel of course, he has a great job in New England with an organization that is the best in the NFL, and it isn't close.

Oh i think he wants the big chair again as well

I think both MacDaniels and Caserio realize the importance of stable ownership and neither would go to work for Irsay.

I do too but like Belichick he realizes his second shot will most, likely be his last opportunity at a HC position and will try to make sure he is in the best position possible and have add much control as possible. I don't believe Caserio is going anywhere at all. I think Belichick is grooming him for the long term in New England and he will pass on other offers.

Tennessee, Cleveland, Detroit, and, San Francisco should be the most likely spots for MacDaniels to land, I don't believe he will go near Miami or Indy.

Stay far away from anything cleveland sports

MacDaniels is an Ohio product and the Browns are the team most likely to give him the most control imo. On the other hand it could be that is where I want to see him land because they need a QB and I want him to give up their first round pick for Garrapolo (i realize this represents the yearly patsfan desire to unload the backup for a first rounder). I also realize they can't trade for a first round pick but they can have them pick the player the Patriots want them to, pick and then make the deal.
