Eagles at Patriots post-game thoughts thread

@Dutchmaster617 i agree somewhat, but the defense is either giving up big yards in first down in the running game or giving up way to many third downs. Maybe it just looks that way but that last third down at the end of the game was the worst. I also think the pass rush isn't what it as earlier in the year.

Well of course it isn't, remember Chandler Jones lead the NFL in sacks? Well now JJ Watt does, and gues what we play him next week so we better block and we better stop throwing into coverage because Hopkins is one of the best WRs in the NFL and will get his just like Beckham and Antonio did against us.

I think the problem was LaFell completely stopped running and it let one of the defenders get a break on the ball. If LaFell keeps running maybe it is still interception or maybe it is incomplete but at least Maxwell isn't standing there waiting for it.
I understand that aspect of the play but it was such a low percentage play, Brady was better off throwing out of bounds or at a receivers feet like he's done so many times the last couple of games. Keep the drive going and build off the momentum after the trick play.

Amen. The better team always gives up 35 unanswered points.

Hence why I said the better team lost, 35 straight, or 50 yard rush in OT I am disgusted, but we are still better than the 5 win Eagles and the Denver Broncos with their rookie QB.

EDIT: I agree with the guy above, Brayd needs to throw it out of bounds not at a short guy covered by 3 Eagles, with I believe 2 being taller than him.

Why does some posters only show up after a loss?

Yes, it's a rhetorical question.

Don't forget how we scored 0 in the first quarter, no one is without blame but I would give 20% to Brady.

What I don't get is how people say only one INT was his fault, he threw one into double/triple coverage and the other he threw right to PHI with no NE receiver in sight. Both of those were his fault, on the pick 6 he dropped like a coward with no attempt to even trip the guy who picked him.

The 2nd one wouldn't have resulted in a pick if LaFell didn't slow down though.

Brady definitely didn't play that good of a game though, I won't deny that. The 1st pick was atrocious, and he got off to a slow start. But outside of that, I mean he didn't have much to throw to, and the oline was poor.

I was honestly impressed with some of the plays Brady made even though he didn't play very well.

From what I remember, even if Lafell kept going on the route, there were 2 defenders in that area. Could be wrong if I rewatch the play but rather not relive that game.

LaFell slowed down, and then broke off in front of a defender all that distance downfield, leaving the entire area with the ball. That let the Eagles have a free shot at a pass that LaFell would have been in perfect position to come down with had he run the correct route in the correct manner.

I feel this is directed towards me, lol. But part of the reason why is because football games are once a week (you have the thursday and monday night game of course, but in general the bulk of the games take place on sunday).

And I've been more occupied than before, so I really don't have much time to post. So as a result, I only post when something major or significant happens (this loss, the one against Kansas city last year, the loss against the Ravens in the 2012-2013 afc championship game, the super bowl win against seattle, etc.). Everything else I usually get from Felger and Mazz or other forums that I tend to visit more frequently.

I don't have anything against the Pats or this site in case you got the wrong idea.

I'll start worrying if they don't show up refocused next week. I can understand taking this game for granted and being distracted after a controversial result last season.

This loss is on coaching and I doubt that'll suddenly become a trend.

Agreed!! It was a horrible decision by Brady either way. They had just made that big play, momentum was there to be built on and Brady throws it all away on a stupid throw into double coverage even with LaJAG breaking off the route. DUMB decision. Since when did this team become so vertical in their passing game?? Brady does not throw a great deep ball and they have no one who is a deep threat.
They were sleep walking through the game.
Where is Josh McDaniels?? Go no huddle, up the tempo, wake up the f*^&*$g offense.
That 3rd quarter was brutal.

What's so troubling is the O-line has sucked all season. They have not fixed that. Houston could be an ugly ugly game if they don't figure it out. They also need to reach out to any veteran receivers who might be available. They need to find a way to re-energize their short game. Team needs some help, some veteran experience in the receiving corp.

Chicken Littles out in full force. This depleted offense without JE11, 87, Lewis, Solder, Dobson scored 28 points.

A better decision by Brady on the goal line changes the whole game. The ST will never have a game like this in a long time. Dolphins and Texans suck. Jets are worrisome, but the D should be able to contain them enough.

As another #12 would say, R-E-L-A-X

how is tom suppose to relax when his offensive line would struggle to block a high school team??

btw that dola to brady pass was awesome. they should use it again later.

belichick was so arrogant today and it came back and bit him in the ass.

A beat-up team with a (for now) clunky offense sacrificing all of 21 yards of field position early in the game to an opponent that to that point hadn't moved the ball much, to try to get an extra possession to try put the opponent down by three scores is "arrogant"??
