Bill i know you're not reading this, but....

CAN YOU PLEASE, PLEASE just go out there and get a big, fast receiver that can stretch the field and knows how to catch the ball? I mean how many more years do we have to watch scrubs like Martin, Harper etc. pretend to be deep play guys? I don't care whether you have to draft them or bring them in through FA but next season i don't want to see Dolphins practice squad players being our main threat deep down field.

Oh and also if you are going to waste high draft picks on the o-line every single year, do you think it would be possible that they actually do their main job and PROTECT Brady? I'm not sure he ever completes a pass without getting absolutely destroyed. I know the perception is that he's a superhero but go out there and take those hits yourself if you think he can take it over and over.

Who do you propose?

Who do you propose?
I don't care really, but every year there are guys in the draft and in FA available yet Bill passes on them and thinks a 13th linebacker is more important than someone who can run more than 25 yards to help the offense.

That's not why we lost this game....

We lost it, cuz for the second week in a row, our ST unit failed us...
....... and because Martin and Lafell can't catch the ball or get open downfield.

Joe Judge might need to be fired.

The receivers were a problem but not the number 1 or 2 problem.

#1 is the coaching staff and the decisions in this game.

#2 is the coaching staff's preparation. The special team was awful.

This loss had nothing to do with receivers. We lost because of:

1.) Worst special teams performance I have seen in decades as a Patriots fan (costing at least 14 points)
2.) terrible coaching decisions (on side kick after 14 point lead to give them great field position)
3.) two very bad decisions by Brady which were completely unnecessary costing us 13-21 points
4.) Piss poor performance by the offensive line

Brady is inaccurate on the deep ball, that's the reason investing in a deep threat now is pointless.

It's not 2007 anymore, he's 38 years old.

Agreed. F*** the offensive philosophy built around Gronk and Edleman that won us the Super Bowl. I, too, would like to criticize Belichick's decision making after watching our offense scrape it out while missing 4 out of our top 6 pass catchers.

I agree with points 2 through 4 but come on, this current receiving corps is scary bad.

Calvin Johnsons, Julio Jones, and Odell Beckham Jrs don't grow on trees; and they aren't always worth the salary cap and ego issues. We could have had Dez Bryant but I'm happier with Devin McCourty. I'm also happier with Nate Solder and our trade back linemen.

If we get another steal like Rob Gronkowski -- great. I don't see that happening though, and big name WRs don't stay on the free market very long.

Even with this loss tonight I believe we clinched a playoff spot, at least the 2nd wildcard spot because of our win over the Steelers.

I didn't say that our WRs were excellent but we didn't lose because of them. You can't give up two special teams TDs and expect to win many games.

You kidding me? He can still throw the ball over 50 yards with ease while getting hit on his blindside. I promise you now as someone who studies receivers that if you get someone that can win a 1 on 1 downfield, then Brady will find that guy with regularity, book it.

Those receivers are great, but as of right now all of their teams are out of a playoff spot...

I think everyone needs to step off the ledge and stop overreacting.

Maybe Tyler Lockett?

Fair point but tell me when all those stud receivers were being taken in Odell's draft class, why was Bill not even looking at them? I'm sorry but the only answer i can think of that he has been spoiled by Brady's greatness and thinks he can get away by just having him throw to short guys and reckons we'll always be alright so long as we have #12. It's not acceptable in my opinion to expect Tom to be perfect nearly every week. Gronk is the only guy that gives Tom elite level receiving. So is Edelman but he's an underneath receiver.
