Here's a small sampling:

Before High's injury: DEN RB's 15 carries for 43 yards O TD's
After High's injury: DEN RB's 17 carries for 136 yards 3 TD's

Minor edit.

I agree on Harper and will also add that I think a general lack of overall productivity was also a catalyst. If he made that mistake but was burning things up in the passing game, then NE obviously forgives that error, IMO. But when you make that mistake AND you haven't really given the team anything in any other area of the game, then why keep you around? What are you providing that we can't get from someone else on the roster at that point?

Quite honestly we don't even know whether Harper would be on the 53 squad after the game even if he fielded the punt normally and we go on to win the game. He is a fringe player and those often get sacrificed if the coaching staff thinks that another area of our squad needs more depth against a specific opponent. So as bad as it looks the release might as well be completely unrelated to that punt.

What about the game two weeks ago? You guys almost lost to a mediocre Giants team. There is no way this team is better than the 2007 squad. With that said, if Gronk can come back the Pats are still the favorites to go all the way, no question about it.

True. Although the 2007 squad lost to fifth place NY Giants once and almost twice.

I think Blount is injured. He used to get 2 - 3 yards out of nothing or turn a 5 yard run into a 1st down with players draped all over him.

Im not seeing that anymore. Blount seems to hit contact and give him up. Im hoping that we see the punishing Blount of old as the season goes by.

He's also been going up against some good defenses with a make-shift, young offensive line.

I hope KC cuts a runningback any running back Andy Reid always has taented backs

you realize the broncos had 10 starters out right?

Was a good game to watch.

Should enjoy the game instead of coming up with a million excuses. your 10-1.

To me the NFL is becoming almost unwatchable when the refs can control the outcome of any close game by simply throwing a flag for defensive holding when defensive backs touch wrs the entire game. They can also call offensive holding at any time to kill a drive at any point they choose. 2nd and 10 becomes 2nd and 20...drive killer. A sack on a teams final drive basically ending the game? Nope, sorry, a defensive back touched a WR, holding...1st down at the 5.
I haven't noticed more offensive holding penalties than normal this year, and there will always be problems with what they choose to call at inopportune times.

But the illegal contact and defensive holding penalties seem to have skyrocketed this year, and like you said, are making the sport almost unwatchable. It's an epidemic and the right thing to do would be for the league to go back to the old rules of allowing DBs more contact down the field. I would take less scoring vs. having defensive penalties on every other play any day of the week. Hands to the face is out of control too--I don't see what the big deal is on a lot of these. Just way to many penalties being called and rules need to be adjusted. Take some power out of the refs' hands. Oh, and I forgot "taunting"-- what complete B.S. that call usually is.

I watched the first quarter again (only have enough time to re-watch in quarters this week), and High is so damn good! I just love watching him play football. He's smart and instinctive. He's physical and blows up linemen and running backs. He rushes equally well from the outside and up the A-gap. He's just f-ing awesome!
