It would have been huge if we had held on to win this game. I think our team mentally went away after the gronk injury:(
I would or will NEVER never concede that this team, a BB coached team with kind of players on this roster, SB WINNERS, "went away" in a game. I just don't ever see that happening with this group of guys. Even BB got up at the podium and lauded the fight in the team. He said it over and over. So I'm curious as to what you saw that you would say that? They were clearly just a team that was outgunned. They were outgunned before the game, so why wouldn't they have been even more so after losing Gronk and High?

I mean no disrespect to you. Just saying that I find it just a bit insulting that you would even insinuate that our boys "went away." This team deserves better than that. At some point injuries just become too heavy. All of our injuries are to key guys, A-list names. C'mon.

The defense. You can tell. Gronk's huge. We don't win anything without that guy. It killed our spirit

I respect your opinion, PPimp. I just don't agree. I can never agree to that with this group of guys. There's nothing you can do to stop the run better when your two top LB's, BOTH ALL PRO TYPES, are out of the game and your edge-setters, Ninko in particular, are being held on literally EVERY play to the outside, including the TD in OT. I just don't see what you say you saw.

As mentioned previously, there are some confusing semantics involved with an MCL injury. Whether it is grade one, two or three they are all tears; just varying degree. A 'sprained MCL' is still a torn MCL. It is simply less severe, and takes a shorter amount of time to heal.

Medial Knee Ligament Injury

Do I need surgery?
Most medial ligament injuries do not require surgical treatment. If there is additional damage to the joint for example an ACL tear as well then surgery may be considered. However, it is thought there is no advantage even with grade 3 injuries to treating them surgically as opposed to bracing and rehabilitation exercises.

How long will it take to recover?
  • A mild MCL injury or grade one sprain should take 3 to 6 weeks to make a full recover.
  • A more severe grade 2 or grade 3 injury may take 8 to 12 weeks.

typo or did someone actually name their child that?

Darqueze Dennard?

He was one of the higher rated CBs in the draft last year. First round pick for CIN.

Kind of makes you think of that Key and Peele sketch with the pro bowl players. It's worth a chuckle if you haven't seen it.

A ligament cannot actually stretch without tearing at least a little bit.

Yes, but the difference, and this is huge, is whether the majority of the fiber is intact, and just a few were disrupted enough to have actually lost connection. If most of the tissue is intact, it is essentially in place, not "torn" in the sense that most people define that. There is torn tissue, but the ligament isn't "torn." And the intact tissue will provide the strength and stability required.

I think Ppimp is drawing the wrong conclusion from a confluence of events: That is-4q in a game with 60-40 TOP at 1mile altitude AND the injury to Gronk. I think they were just gassed.

Before Hightower injury: DEN RB's had 15 carries for 43 yards

After Hightower injury: DEN RB's had 15 carries for 136 yards

That's what High means to this team and so much more. Now picture both of the dynamic duo being out. You're relying on Freeny, who has made a few plays, but is not that good (yet) and Mayo, who has shown improvement, but is still very much a shell of himself. I believe I saw Bostic out there a few times too. It's rough right now for sure.

Trey Flowers was a healthy scratch.. Why?

McL is 6 weeks and acl is a year.

I don't give two flying ****s about regular season anymore.

As long as that playoff run is healthy

Agreed, now that undefeated is out the window. Just get the bye and get as healthy as possible.

Chandler Jones
Jabaal Sheard
Rob Ninkovich
Malcom Brown

Dominique Easley

They drove the field with a minute to go to tie the game after he went out.

I think just the opposite.

And probably would have done it OT too if the refs decided to call that blatant hold on Talib

I would be fine with going to Denver in the playoffs, especially in the AFCCG. Brady would be playing his tenth AFCCG and Osweiler his tenth game.

NFL will probably make sure we don't get that far into the playoffs

Holy cow! Those are some stats that jump out off the page and slap you in the face lol

“Against the Broncos with Hightower on the field, the Patriots allowed 46 yards on 16 carries (2.88 yards per carry), but once he left the game, the Patriots allowed 133 yards on 16 carries (8.31 yards per carry).”

Hightower missed time earlier this season with a rib injury against the Indianapolis Colts and the defense allowed 120 rush yards to a team ranked 29th overall in rushing yards.

I'm sure its not pure coincidence that the numbers got so much worse when he was out. Its no secret that Hightower and Collins are 2 of our premiere defensive players and things are different when they aren't in the game.
