Here is a list of WR that we may want to consider...

I think we need to fix our running game somehow. Either this line is not blocking well for runs or blount is ineffective. But we need to develop our running game more and more.

I think it's time to review the program they have to scout, draft and develop WRs in NE.

I see BB signing every safety and LB available and he seems to not give a **** to the WR position. I always felt that we were thin and with basically only Dobson as depth, in a offense with Amendola, Edelman and Gronk, all with a history of injuries, Lafell on pup, the probability of all of them going 2 seasons in a row without injuries were very slim. I'm going even further, I see Edelman having another season in this level he's playing in the past 2 years, then I can see him declining and that should not come as a surprise because he will be 30 and with the cumulative effects of playing in high intensity in these recent years. There is no one being developed as of now. Even if Dobson were healthy, next year is his last year in a rookie contract, it's an absolute need to draft 2 WR next draft, but we could have at least one being developed right now.

Dri Archer cant believe he isnt on a roster.
Just get him in space.
I would cut Assante Cleveland for Dri Archer yesterday

Dri Archer? The man of 7 receptions in 20 career games and a 3.3 YPC? You ever stop to think there is probably a good reason why he's not on a roster?

You never know with our system. Couldn't hurt to bring him in for a tryout

Stop and think about this for a minute. This is Archer's 2nd year in the league. The Patriots almost certainly did their research on him when he was draft eligible just last year. I think that the fact they haven't brought him in tells you everything you need to know about him. That they don't believe he'd work in the system.

Unless they are familiar with the Pats' system, the will be useless until the playoffs.

And please! No more Randy Moss talk. The guy was toast three years ago. Couldn't get off jams on the line. Do people think he will be better at it three years later?

My binky is TE Nick O'Leary on the Bills practice squad. Smart, tough, sure-handed player but as a rookie, he's not likely to help at all this year, admittedly. But I like the guy. Any time FSU needed a tough catch, he delivered. Plus his folks are my neighbors!

I played tight end in pop warner and I'm only 40. Should I tryout?

Pass catchers are dropping like flies. If signing Moss preserves someone...anyone...on the current roster till the playoffs...then I'm on board with that.

I cannot see how anyone can disagree with this

I'm probably in the small sized camp that says we do need to sign a WR. I do think Collie would be a better fit due to his familiarity with the system. I believe the CFL season is over but either way, I'm sure throwing NFL $$ would intrigue him. If not, I would actually go for Brandon Lloyd if he is not 100% retired. To just have another warm body, maybe bring back someone we cut in the preseason or from the practice squad: Jeremy Gallon, Jonathan Krause, Devin Gardner, etc.

people keep bringing up Collie... IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.

The CFL changed their rules such that any player who finishes their season is BARRED from signing with any NFL team. It is not subject to buyout, like it used to be. Austin Collie himself tweeted this out. He cannot sign with ANY NFL team.

Hey Austin, any thoughts on giving the Patriots a call ? You're a great receiver, you know the system and we are down to 2 now.

Would love to my man, but not allowed since I finished this season in the CFL. I appreciate it though.

Being the 12th week of the season, there is no time for the established WR's to get into game shape. So I think the best bet is to sign WR that's been recently cut or on another teams practice squad. The two I like:
1) Julian Talley - for his lateral quickness. He has no production in the nfl, but that could be system fit related. He was on Giants practice squad.
2) Tavarres King - for his down field speed. He is on the Giants practice squad.

How does it stop him with it being different countries and all? Do they need a deal between leagues or does his contract specifically bar him from of regardless of country? Interested in the legal side of it if anyone knows.

The practice squad is bare ass at wide receiver.

I think I'm crazy but I'd really like to see Moss here again. I'm in total denial that he's finished. I don't know why but I just somehow think he'll be magically energized coming back to the Pats.

Dri Archer and Jonas Gray
Stop with Jonas Gray. He's a Dolphins player on injured reserve. And Dri Archer has never displayed even the slightest ability to make anybody miss him. Straight ahead speed is not the only thing involved in playing football.
