They say time is the best healer

Good morning my fellow Pats fans comrades,

It’s Monday morning, probably a black Monday for most of us. My eyes refuse to remain open, my head is pounding from a combination of anger, frustration, and a mere 30 minutes of very light sleep, and I feel like smashing Goodell’s head with a baseball bat.

Like everyone here, I am furious for the atrocious officiating, disappointed for the loss, and fearful for the injuries suffered by Gronk and Hightower.

With that said, as Belichick would say, “We’re onto Philly”. There is nothing that we can say, discuss, argue, or question, that would change anything about last night’s outcome. The best thing we can do is concentrate on the positives:

1. Gronk is (hopfully) ok.

2. Hightower’s injury does not seem to be season-ending in nature either

3. Broncos won:

a. In OT

b. Faced the most depleted team in the league

c. Had a lopsided officiating on their side

4. We are still holding onto the #1 seed

5. Broncos still need to face the Steelers @ Pittsburgh, the Bengals (that will drop one of those two, one spot further in the seeding race), and last but not least, face the Chargers and Raiders – both on the road.

6. Bengals still need to face Pittsburgh, the Giants (hopefully the Giants that showed up against us and not Washington last night), and the Colts

7. Aside from Lewis and Dobson, the rest of our in-season injuries are not season ending. We are due to get Amendola and Collins back. Hopefully Hightower and Gronk shortly thereafter. And last but not least, the Squirrel should be back for the playoffs.

As everyone else here, my fingers are crossed that the injury curse has run its course on this team, and will move onto another one. I recommend the Bengals and Broncos as my top two candidates. I don’t want to see any particular player injured (well, TJ Ward is an exception), but as a whole, those two teams appear to have dodged the bullets thus far for the most part of it. I think those two teams deserve a visit from the injury fairy, to level out the playing field a bit.

My father always told me that time is the best healer and I should always let it do its thing. I think we should let time do its thing here too. Both as far as our emotions go following this loss, and literally as a healing force on our injured players. At the end of the day, even with this loss, we need to put things in perspective:

1. We are still holding onto the #1 seed

2. We should have our starters back for the end of the season/playoffs.

When it’s all said and done, come playoffs time, I think we’ll be looking back at this loss and chuckle. The league, the officials, and other teams can all be against us. But we have the football gods, karma, and most importantly – BB and TB on our side. Come January, with a healthy and rested (hopefully 1st round bye) roster, we should steamroll anyone who lends in Foxoboro.

Keep calm and let’s go Pats!

Some of our remaining games could be tough now

I thought Gronk was done, and that would have ended the run IMO. But if we have everyone back except Dion & Solder for the playoffs, I don't care if we have to play WC weekend on the road. There's no reason we should lose to anybody.

I'm actually ok with the injuries because it looks like we will have Edelman, DA, Collins, Hightower, Gronk back for the playoffs. At this point the only thing that matters is that we are healthy at playoff time

Time itself does not heal. It is the nature of the experiences that occur over time that helps us put things into proper perspective that heals.
