That last drive was absolutely insane considering he only had Chandler and LaFell to throw to. One of Brady's best ever. And Gostowski what a ****ing kick. He might be as good as Adam ever was, maybe even better.

I have no sympathy for Manning, this is the price he pays for putting the record ahead of the team and his dignity. I would actually love it if he never played another down but since he is tied for most wins I have no doubt he will either embarrass himself by getting it after NB Denver wraps up their division or by putting that record above another teams best interests and returns next season. Either way the ceremony will be hilarious...........
I would like it if he never gets it. The Final Choke to cap a career of choking.

My hopes for an unbeaten season were probably unrealistic.
Despite the poor blocking, Blount is not a big time back and should probably not be re-signed.
Scott Fletcher improved a little in the second half but I'd like to see Fauria (7 TD in 2013) get
a cram course in our offense.
I feel bad for Harper. Their guy also flubbed a punt.

What about the game two weeks ago? You guys almost lost to a mediocre Giants team. There is no way this team is better than the 2007 squad. With that said, if Gronk can come back the Pats are still the favorites to go all the way, no question about it.

In all fairness I was inactive that day, and most here will agree that they struggle a little bit against the Giants, most in fact will admit that it almost feels like a hangover the next day. That's how exhausting it is for us to play the Giants.

Peyton's got to be the only one sadder than us this AM.
I saw Os get up slowly after a few hits and his tall and lanky frame could present a problem in Kubiak's offense, which somewhat puts the QB out in harms way with some of the bootlegging and such, but otherwise, he effectively shut the door on Manning with that performance yesterday. Injuries or not, bad calls or not, the kid made some crucial plays that we in NE land have grown accustomed to other QB's not making in critical moments. You could argue that we should have never been in those critical moments if things like the muffed punt didn't happen, but it did. So did the bad calls. But when the plays had to be made, he made them. You (not you) can't take that away from him entirely by reducing it all to bad calls or unfortunate plays.

Harper ****ed up but I can't help but feel that's a massive mistake on behalf of the coaches. A veteran should have been in for that situation, not a rookie.

It's an easy play. Sander is a veteran and he muffed a punt too. A fair catch doesn't mean you always catch the ball. Harper blew a play he can make easily. Mistakes happen to everyone, including TB and BB. Harper needs to learn from it.

Thanks for finding a silver lining. Love the fight in this team.

What was up with trying to throw it the Chandler on the sideline all the time? I get that the coaches and Brady thought that they had a good miss match with Chandler getting between the LB and safety. But it was pretty obvious that Chandler isn't that fast, so he didn't get much separation, making it a really hard throw. It felt like it really disrupted the flow of our offense going back to that all the time.

Osweiler had every right to get flustered, what with the pounding he took and the way the DBs played most of the game, but he kept his head and executed when he needed to. That was a major league win for him last night. He was impressive. Looks like Denver has found their QB.

Though I didn't care about undefeated, I don't think your hopes were unrealistic. Well . . . I also say that not knowing if you meant your hopes before or after all the injuries. Prior to the injuries, I would have bet that the team could have gone undefeated. They were unstoppable on O and the D has now come into it's own. Nobody was beating this team. But alas, there just stops being a next man when you have to go through so many.

I said earlier this week that Blount is not a workhorse and only flourishes against certain teams. I like the dude, he fits in NE and everyone loves him, including BB, but he cannot be relied upon, even in late game when the mentality should be to grind time. Remember "Clock killin Corey Dillon?" What about Antwain Smith? Even guys like Kevin Faulk and Danny Woodhead effectively did it at the end of games in the past. Blount, a guy who is 250lbs cant? That's unbelievable.

The Chandler experiment has been all but an abject and absolute failure to this point.

Yup. Let's see if he can string a few more of those together, but it does look good for DEN after yesterday. The future looks bright.

He may not always get positive yardage, but he at least attacks the LOS with some burst. Someone in another thread mentioned that he thinks Blount is hurt. I can't confirm or deny because I've not seen or heard that anywhere else, but he definitely bunny hops to the LOS and then just throws himself into traffic. The quicker backs find the holes. The line struggles in pass blocking, but they're generally solid run blockers. Blount just takes a while to get going and faster defenses, like the one yesterday, will win against that every time.

I think Blount is injured. He used to get 2 - 3 yards out of nothing or turn a 5 yard run into a 1st down with players draped all over him.

Im not seeing that anymore. Blount seems to hit contact and give him up. Im hoping that we see the punishing Blount of old as the season goes by.

He was pretty effective on the last drive to tie the game. If we are going to point fingers, I'm not sure Scott Chandler would even be on the list.

Ideally the end would come with Kubiak aceding to league demands and starting Peyton in the Broncos first playoff game, so Peyton can go out the way Peyton truly should go out............. One and done! Legacy cemented!

One final one and done, the poetry of it. I'm getting misty eyed just thinking about it.

The Patriots (Brady) are the best clock management team I've ever seen, when they're behind.

When they're ahead, not so much.

He has started in two games. He missed his targets a lot last night, but that could be inexperience, weather, etc. He played much better at the end, but I think the Pats defense was gassed.

I think he needs to play a few more games.

Fans around here are so used to excellence (and probably rightfully so) that the leash is extremely short for anything mediocre. But I agree that Harper is taking a beating this probably more than what he deserves. I'm certainly not saying we shouldn't be talking about that play, as it turned the game when NE had all the momentum really, but it was a play that happens in a game.

If one other thing goes the Pats' way, like calling the hands to the face on the TD pass late (Chandler Jones) or maybe not calling that stupid OPI on Gronk that killed a first down on third down or not calling that questionable PI on Chung, then we're probably not even talking about Harper this morning or questioning the coaching staff. A coaching staff, I might add, that has pretty much made all the right moves in the face of an injury list that's not only mounting in sheer numbers, but look at the names on the f*cking list - Edelman, Hightower, Gronkowski, Collins (illness), Amendola. WTF?! Every one of those guys has either been an All Pro or could easily be one, with Amendola being the only exception. I'm convinced, whether right or wrong, that no other team could be 10-1 after suffering so man KEY injuries. And I have every belief and even expectation that the team will find its way through this period and still end up a top seed.

Blount seems to not be putting into effect the coaching that made him good in his previous Pats stint. He's running too upright and he's not getting to the line quickly. I know he's not a quick accelerator by nature but that hop-skip thing he's doing as soon as he gets the ball is not helping.

I'm not ready to put him in Cooperstown yet;) but Denver has to be encouraged. We'll see as the film library on him develops.
