Worst Refereeing I have ever seen

If he recovered it he would have emerged from the pile with the ball. He was the first to fall on it but I saw no clear proof he ever had possession before the camera got blocked by the pile. Thus the play should not have been dead and you know the proof you need is who has it when it's over. I think Ebner did a great job taking the ball away from the Denver player. It is not like in the end zone where the second you have possession over the line the play is over. At no point did I see clear possession and the player down

I think you're seeing what you want to see.

Believe what you want I never saw clear possession and then the camera was blocked by the pile from which Ebner emerged with the ball pretty damn quick

To find proof that is called like pazrul72 is saying go back to the 2007 Super Bowl & watch Pierre Woods fall on a fumble clear as day but Ahmad Bradshaw come out of the pile with the ball. Guess who was awarded the ball. Matter of fact here it is

Because Denver recovered it. Watch the replay. There's a lot to complain about but that play isn't one of them.

I agree. Among the countless unfair calls (and non-calls) that went against us in that game, that wasn't one of them.

The Denver player held the ball in his hands, and was down. It was clearly Denvers ball. It took a while for Ebner to get the ball, and by that point Denver already had possession.

It went beyond bad officiating. It was cheating by a corrupt league that has it in for the Patriots.

No sure about the worst ever but it certainly sucked. Remember some Playoff games that were as bad or worse. Don`t think anyone mentioned the running into our Punter that should have been at leat a 5 yard penalty but no flag at all.

Sadly I think with all the video replays/reviews to fall back on,the Refs have lowered their standards, then again hasn`t officiating been horrible in most Sports for a long time? Would still rather have reviews to fall back on.

And did the NFL make a rule change regarding fumbles? Used to be whoever came out of the pile with the Ball was awarded possession.

That was the worst officiated game I have seen in a longtime. It was so in favor of the Broncos.

I am super proud of the Pats almost overcoming the injuries and the refs and winning the game, but it was too much on this night.

If the league is going to single out Gronk for OPI, they should have called it on D Thomas when pushed off on the play at the end of regulation when it was called DPI instead.

"Oh lookee see Al, Gronkowski dipped his shoulder".. what a f..ing crock, what was he supposed to do run into him with his chest.. bullshyt call.

The PI on Chung that negated the Branch sack, was bullshyt and 99% of the times that would never be called..

This is not about being undefeated, it is about the "integrity" of the game.. a word often uttered by the NFL, but seldom practiced... how can the NFL even begin to talk about integrity when they cannot even figure out what is a foul and what is not...

Confusing for sure, BB will learn from it should it happen again, cannot remember ever seeing that.

I'm confused. The ref said that the play clock be set at 40 seconds. At the moment, the game clock was at 24 seconds left, and the play clock was at 32 seconds left, the play clock was set from 32 to 40 which means almost nothing, and the game clock started to tick. Is that what the rule says?

This wasn't just a couple of bad calls where you feel like you got screwed. There were several aggregious game changing errors by the refs. I hate complaining about the refs, but damn.

The pass interference on Gronk. Clean play. Game changing penalty.
The negated 50 yard pass completion called back. 60 yard swing. That was not a hold by Jackson. It was clean.
The defensive pass interference on Chung. If anything it should have been offensive PI. Chung played it cleanly. It should have been 3rd and long from the 14.
The hands to the face on the Denver TD pass, not called.
How about Brady getting tackled by his head? Blatant penalty.
Not a game changer, but how do you miss an obvious running into the kicker?
The Broncos O line was constantly holding. I don't blame them since the refs weren't calling it.

This wasn't just bad officiating, it was cheating on national televsion. The Patriots are too classy of an organization to make a fuss about this, but I sure hope the media turns this into an issue. The NFL needs to be called out and be held accountable. This can't happen again.

I've been trying to tell everyone that the league was fixed.

Even Brady's lawyer hinted at it, during one of his first interviews, concerning "deflategate." He said something about the league wanting certain outcomes. We weren't suppose to win the SB, that was supposed to be Wilson's big moment against the big bad Patriots, Butler wasn't informed. We weren't even suppose playing the SB, that was suppose to be Luck vs Wilson. The new IT QBs. That's why we were punished with deflategate, because Belichick didn't keep his crew or himself in check.

They create storylines, they determine the outcomes and they use the media to develop stars from these "headlines." This was the "passing of the torch" game. Another nobody arrogant QB gets an opportunity after a future HoF QB goes out with a injury. He goes from nothing to something and they crown him with a victory over Brady and probably crown him with a ring in the end.

I am done with the league after Brady, because when he's done it will lose its luster and truly suck, like WWF without The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Brady is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment and the baddest SOB on the field.

End of my rant.

I have been saying the same thing for years. There is no review of the calls in a game and a penalty can be called on every play. The refs can have a major impact on a game. The PI on chung and the call on Gronk were less than on other plays were nothing was called. Defensive holding can be called on every play and this gives the refs the opportunity to modulate the game the way they want. Not saying the whole thing is fixed but it is highly influenced.

Call on Chung was BS as was OPI on Gronk otherwise whatever. F U stupid zebras

What was the deal with the no call on Ryan Allen getting run into? A replay would have been nice. Was there any evidence the Denver player was blocked towards the kicker?
It was a terrible punt, there was no way they were letting the Patriots re-kick. If Allen pinned them inside the 20 there probably would've been a flag.

The NFL is rigged, it's no news, the Pats knew entering this season that they would have to overcome the other team and the ref crew in every game because when they are not acting in bad faith they are flat out incompetent.

I don't accept any excuse, not from last night, had we did everything perfectly and if we have had the game stolen from us OK, it was not the case.

I was so pissed about the Chung and Gronk calls that I forgot about that one. When it happened the crowd let out a groan (expecting a penalty), so I'm assuming that the Denver player wasn't blocked into Allen.

The hold call on the bomb to Keshawn Martin was suck ****ing garbage.

Yup, it was like clockwork.. every big play the Pats got or big 3rd down conversion they threw a flag for the most ticky tack BS

That would be fine if they were consistent, but they didn't call a single holding penalty on the Broncos offensive line the entire game, when there were some obvious ones on some big plays

I have a feeling that the worst is yet to come.

We knew going into the season that this league is corrupt. For f*ck sake, there's a decision from a NY federal court that confirms this.

Like I said in the game chat, just wait until we're @Jets with serious playoff seeding implications on the line.

Denver has the tie breaker now, so if the Pats drop another game we'll be going back thru Denver for a SB run. If Gronk is done for the year we won't need to worry about playing denver in the afccg because we won't make it past the steelers or Bengals. Hell even the Colts would scare me with all these injuries
