The two big free agent signings in the division were Suh and Revis, and one would have to believe that both the Jets and the Dolphins would like to pull those deals back. It's at least arguable that both defenses are worse this year than last.

Wait what?... The Jets defense is worse this year than last? What ya been smoking man? Our secondary blew last season, and it's greatly improved now. Dline slightly as well. And now with Mauldin playing well (with more playing time after Coples released), the D is a helluva lot better this season.
Revis is still great. I know Hopkins beat him for a TD last week but if ya watch the tape, that was a horrible play call. Man coverage across the board, show blitz but don't and no safety help. Revis island or not, ya don't man-up on Hopkins and give the QB 4+ seconds to comfortably throw without at least one safety over-top.

Suh is a great leader - gave up 4 passing TDs and 38 points to Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets.

The Revis deal was stupid. Which is why Belichick is Belichick and the Jets are the Jets.

Disagree. It's a 3 year deal basically. Even with an expected decline in his play over the next couple seasons, he's well worth it. Does anyone really think he won't still be a top 10 CB 2 years from now, with the possibility of still being a top 3? Plus what he can teach other players.

No regrets here whatsoever as a Jet fan on the Revis deal.

Agreed, that's really the only way to assess a top corner, see what he does against a top receiver.

dolphins are a dumpster fire.
...tannehill also showed excellent leadership by making fun of practice squad players paychecks.

Would have liked Revis to stay and I have no doubt he's still a good corner but to my eye, he looks to have lost a step. Mind you, I don't blame the Jets for making the move. You guys need all the good stories you can get given your recent history of achievement.

Haven't really noticed the lost step myself. Could be true though. Regardless it's nothing crazy at this point.

With Revis though, it's not like Cro or even some speedster WR that relies on speed. Revis is a technique guy who happens to have decent speed as well. Basically he hopefully should be a CB who ages well.
