Danny Amendola out Sunday

I think I'm going to bed and set my alarm for 11:00 PM Sunday night, so I can wake up and read about the Pats' win over Denver while suffering no more injuries.
And potentially miss a game day thread in a potentially close game? Think of all the nail-biting and hand-wringing you'd miss from our fans who think the Patriots are only good if they don't have to punt/no turnover crew.

No one's told me how Denver is going to score, yet.

The thing that impressed me about watching the Pats D in the last couple of games is how confident they look. Their level of communication is amazing. Sure there's the occasional blown coverage but overall their attitude is great. I don't believe Denver has faced a D like the Pats, and as it was last week, Pats D will keep us in the game long enough for TB and JM to figure out Den schemes and ultimately prevail. Second half will be impressive. Just please, no more injuries.

I'm not garunteeing a loss here. We have a very good young defense going against an inexperienced QB and the games I usually think the Pats will lose they tend to surprise me and win.

However, I think keeping out Danny was the right call. Even with a loss here it's not the end of the world. I don't see us dropping another game, maybe the Jets, but I doubt it. And Denver is not winning out either. So I still think we are in good shape for a first round bye and HF. I do hope Danny will be back next week.

they have plenty of weapons...if Pats can't pressure brock, then he will be able to move the ball.

those bootlegs/long passes down the field jake plummer style.

kubiak's offense gave us fits last year in the playoffs. but that was playoff flacco with a great offensive line. denvers isnt that good/plus we've stopped the run well this year..

@STEVEBURTONWBZ: Danny Amendola is out against the Broncos. In fact, not even traveling with the team. #WBZ

We're outgunned, putting it mildly.
We are definitely outgunned. Denver should be licking their chops at this game. Home field is not guaranteed, and NE must find a way to grind this thing out tonight and down the stretch. If there is any team capable, it's NE. But as Tedy said, you just run out of guys at a certain point, and receiver seems to be at that point right now. Let's hope for solid contributions from:

  • a) The O-Line - If they look anything like last week, Brady will probably not finish the game and the team will likely lose

  • b) James White - He has to build on last week. Now is the time for him to seize this role. Lewis is not walking through the proverbial door anytime soon, so we need more from this kid in reality, not just in theory anymore.

  • c) Anybody not named Gronk and LaFell - It's given they'll have to play big, but the Broncos also know that and I'm sure they'll be a defensive focus on the two. That means White, Chandler or someone who can catch a damn football must step up.

  • d) I know yards will be hard to come by on the ground, but Blount must do a bit more than he's done in most games this season. Brady does not have the tools to drop back 50 times, which I'm pretty sure would have been the game plan if the weapons were at his disposal. But that's not the case and Blount just simply has to do more. The O-Line is at least moderately consistent with it's run blocking and can't help that it takes Blount some time to get rolling. He just doesn't hit the hole yard (ha ha).
I expect the D will be its usual solid self. Oswhatever won't scare me until he gives me a valid reason to fear him. The game against the Bears, a very "winnable" game for the Bears, was not enough for me to be convinced. In a way, I almost wish we could see Manning because I know what I'm getting with him . . . AWFULNESS. LOL

I don't care about undefeated, but I do care about #1 seed, especially since we'll no doubt enter the playoffs still banged up. Edelman, if he can really be back in time, likely won't be himself entirely. Amendola must find a way to stay healthy. NE really needs to manage his snaps, even with the dearth of talent at his position. LaFell must continue to regain form.

Maybe if Wade Philips becomes Rex Ryan overnight.

That game was the usual 1 game a year (sometimes 2) where Rex comes up with a gameplan that the OL has a tough time and the offense struggles a bit.

He brought pressure 20-40 times..crazy...See if i was Denver..i would try and do the same with all the weapons out..but Philips? yeah....

How do you think Denver's offense will match up v Pats D?
Right now I am feeling like a tight close Pats win.. and I think you are right that our D may be the difference in this thing. I predict winner of turnovers wins this game.
