Bruins 2015-2016

Goose definitely needs to start not only more home games, but the majority of home games until further notice.

And if the Clod insists on playing Chara & Seidenberg every game, then the very least he can do is drop tRotman & Game-Killer in favor of Morrow & Colin Miller.

Chara - Colin Miller
Seidenberg - Morrow
Krug - McQuaid

Rask finally started to begin to earn his money vs Toronto.

4 in a row...5 of 6....big game tomorrow vs the rangers who are dam good

Some bad periods/games, since I last posted, but some much better plays/games, as well. Gus is playing very, very well and Rask is coming around, and this typically translates into BOS wins.

That Detroit game was surprising! I didn't expect them to hang in there the way things were going, never mind pull it out. When the new guys step up like that, it motivates everyone; gives the team confidence. This Vatrano kid is impressing me. He was just lighting it up in Providence. I was very curious if he'd be anything at all like that in BOS. Well, guess what? He's scoring in the NHL, as well. What's most surprising is that Vatrano is just 21, and he's not afraid to shoot/score.

Oh, and let's add a comment about Colin Miller, as well. Like him, yet? After the trade, I was posting up on how this kid would make the team and become a keeper in B's-town. His profile just indicated that he was one of those can't miss kids. And he has not disappointed; should continue to get better and improve the B's defense.

Well, the BOS-NYR game is on, now; B's up 1-0...so far, so good. Let's get 2 (points), today and start pulling away from mediocrity. :D

EDIT: The B's just beat the NYR. Big cheers! They were great in the 1st & 3rd periods. What I noticed is that this team came back the same way they did in DET, only they didn't require OT for the win. And a big win it was against a great NYR team. It was a win; home win; confidence builder.

Bs shoulda won last night after Marchand's penalty-shot shortie. That one point might return to haunt them.

And Morrow should be playing ahead of the pile of crap tRotman.

Big win last night in Montreal; Rask finally plays a good game against them there.

Ferraro is proving to be a nice little addition, and at no cost other than his salary.

But the Clod has to explain how the Feck Colin Miller isn't playing ahead of either tRotman or Kevin Miller, both of whom played like crap, again.
Those two bums are simply not NHL-calibre defencemen on a legit contender.

The EDM and CAL games were a bust...totally bummed me out, particularly the CAL game. The 4-0 shutout in VAN was a great way to bounce, after the EDM and CAL bungles. Personally, I was a bit upset at the way they lost, yet, another home game against NAS...like, here we go..back to the EDM/CAL style of play, again. Of course, the MON game was sweet. Hopefully, they can build off of that, as a team.

One observation I made during the MON game was that the B's were forcing passes, or should I say getting smothered by MON, instead? If you noticed, the B's started having more success passing more ahead of their players. Maybe that's what they have to do against them? If that's the case, get your rockets on!

Fortunately, Rask is back in form. However, the defense still is not. It still lacks.

Why isn't Jimmy doing it in BOS? Connolly looks great at times, then he's unnoticeable. Hopefully, he'll get it...consistently! Beleskey is starting to get aggressive..and pucks are going in. Kampainnen is a -5 on the 4th line, only to be outdone by Spooner, who is a -6. David Pastrnak, where are you? Colin Miller is a keeper and will get way better. Joe Morrow is still just a prospect. I hope Ferrraro finds his place in BOS and sticks around.

Overall, this team will end up with a lot of 20+ goal scorers. Cheers!

Methinks trades will be made before the end of the season.

My fave Bruin is Brad Marchand. I am still miffed that I never had him on my radar, before he was brought up...used to hear about the other prospects, but never him. He's brings it and is contagious!

The B's are at a point where they need to begin to move ahead in the pack; not rest on a good game here and there. And they must, must, must improve their home record! Really? They are 10-2-2 away and just 5-7-1 at home? Do they not like the black sweaters?

Hopefully, they'll grab 2 tomorrow at the Garden against FlA. They need the points.

Yeah, both Spooner & Kemppainen have been disappointments. Neither of them can be trusted with defensive-zone face-offs, and except for man-advantage situations, Spooner has been unproductive due in some part to not having consistent line-mates. Still, he plays ridiculously soft and is less than useless in his own end.

The B's don't seem to fair well in the player development arena. When they do get a top prospect, they're typically gone after a few years. Seguin and Hamilton come immediately to mind. And please be reminded, this opinion is stretched over many years- not just a few. And the reason why this is so unsatisfactory is the fact that BOS is not a new franchise. They should be better at it than most teams, not in the bottom echelon. We're hearing about this new faculty coming about. How will this specifically translate to better player development? Put simply, how will BOS staff do things differently when this is being used?

BIG. Awesome. Way past cool. All kinds of good things to say...about how the B's are currently playing. And they are winning games that they are not playing up to their potential in (e.g. NJD) and lighting up the lamp in the rest.

OK, so we know the B's can score, play well and win. And they can do it at home, as well...and in MTL! No excuses, now. :p

Rask is back. And with both goalies playing well, the B's are a very good team. The special teams are tops in the league when the effort is there. No excuses. This team can score and play defense. No excuses. And they are still becoming more than just a very good team. Nobody else can put shame on the B's- just themselves for not playing up to their capacity. No excuses. ;)

Spooner is getting it; becoming exactly what the team needs in the 3rd C spot. It's now at the point where the B's need Spooner..and playing well. Good on him! Ferraro is a smart player who is putting his stamp on the winning streak; making some smart plays and still improving. Colin Miller is getting seasoned..the best is yet to come with this guy. Frank Vatrano is not getting too cute around the net..and it's paying off. (I thought he was going to put the game against NJD away with that break-away.) Jimmy Hayes is starting to skate more (i.e. move his legs), drive to the net and getting more physical. He cannot be successful if he does not keep it up; will be rewarded if he does...and the whole city wants him to.

It's quite clear to me that Krejci & Bergy are tops in the league; can match up against any other players in the world. May they stay healthy and play on. Chara is playing like Chara...cool; the B's need that. Erikkson is looking like the player the B's hoped to acquire in the Seguin deal. Beleskey is always doing something, even when he's not scoring...and he will score more. Marchand is my fave player; having a great year so far. Can you believe this streak is going on and Pastrnak is not even in the lineup? Sorry, I'm not seeing Khoko as the player he thinks he is..when he's in the lineup, he's almost invisible...like Connolly. Interestingly, we hear about some prospects for years, but guys like Marchand and Vatrano come out of nowhere; make the team; and contribute right away.

Claude is a keeper; B's are lucky to have him.

Hopefully, this team- sparked by the younger guys who want to win -will continue to improve and want more; decide that their team deserves to win it all and accept nothing less. Hopefully, this team will appreciate BOS fans holding them accountable, so that the effort that is required to win is consistent. Hopefully, this team will remain healthy and the younger guys continue to step up...take the next (higher) steps, as well. This team has shown me that it's good and right to have high hopes for them. And they're certainly not done, yet.

Hopefully, I can post another thread like this in the future... :D

I read on a scroll on the NHLN that Pasternak was sent to Providence with Koko, so maybe that's a good sign that he just needs time there to get in NHL shape. The Bs need him to add scoring depth to the top 3 lines; they've been relying too much on the top 2 lines.

I still feel that, his hat trick in PitsDirt notwithstanding, Vatrano needs more time in Providence to develop NFL-calibre strength. He is extremely easy to rub out along the boards, and isn't explosive enough to compensate for his lack of strength there.

And for the love of Ganja, get Game-Killer Kevin Miller (and/or tRot-man) the feck outta the lineup and replace him with Joe Morrow. Seidenberg is experienced enough to play RD with Morrow at LD.
