Danny Amendola out Sunday

Can the title be changed? Dola's status has the same probability as snow falling on Sunday.

can't see them winning with danny out...but to be honest, I'll be glad the undefeated talk will be over if they do lose. No doubt it would be a distraction down the stretch. They can still be the #1 seed, which is all the matters at this point.

Yeah, I mean, like, we're the defending NFL champions and we have yet to lose a game, 10 games into the season. We haven't lost in almost a year. We've been very fortunate lately.

Not going to hurt to drop one, especially considering how many players are out- can't remember the last time this many key players were out.

On Monday the unit was embarassed and Brady was roughed up.

Making sure neither happen again was priority 1,2 and 3 this past week.

They are too good of a team for that.
Last week was a transition week for the offensive line… They were getting guys back, some of them weren't really totally ready to go. I think they'll be firing on all cylinders Sunday night.

Post game, the conversation will be, "how do the patriots keep doing it?"

White is the key. I see a lot of screens and using him as a wo. If we can run for 90 yards that will set up a PA for long gains. I trust our D to the point that 17 is all we need to win.

One thing this points to imo is the need to keep 1-2 slot receiver prospects on the practice squad as it tends to be a position that gets injured fairly consistently, which is understandable given they are usually small quick receivers running into the teeth out the defense. It's vital to the Patriots offense and they can learn their roles in practice and be ready when the time comes.

Hard to imagine a win, but still need it. The difference between winning and losing this particular game is huge.
How do you think Denver's offense will match up v Pats D?

If Talib is out we will have Martin and Harper against their 3rd and 4th corner. How deep is Denver ' s backfield? Brady does not need his top guys (like some qbs), Brady only needs an open receiver. It might be OK depending on Denver ' s 3rd and 4th DB, and they still have to cover Gronk. If Harris is on Gronk than it will be their 4th and 5th DBs on Martin/Harper. Most teams don't have a stockpile of fast 2nd round safeties to double team a TE ;-).

Look at the bright side.... Not much film on harper and Martin. Wouldn't be surprised if BB, McDaniels, and Brady cooked some special playbook just for this game's offensive roster. Some formations and routes that no one had seen from the Pats this season.

Perhaps they add a play that is a pass to Mike Williams who runs a few yards and then falls heavily on the DB who is tackling him. Run that play 5-10 times and the Denver corners would either all be injured or sprinting in the opposite direction :D

Arguably the most important player position on any team is QB. Ortho has 1 career NFL start...I think.

Stop the run and let him throw all day...2 INT's.

I haven't watched him play at all...but 6'7" tells me not overly mobile...3 sacks.

GB scored 13 Vs the Bears. The QB era is coming to an end. Time to revert to reliance on the running game, field position, field goals and D!

The Pats run game is decent if the O line is healthy and the TEs compliment it well. The D is very good, FG kicker is excellent as is the punter for field position.

So while the team wont put up 45 they can win a 16 - 13 type game.

Of course now we ll see NE open the game with an empty backfield and LaFell, Martin, White, Gronk and Harper flying around catching passes in a hurry up O. Lol

Gronk and Lafell with big games moving the chains...16ish total catches between them combined. Harper and White make another 10...IMO.

I think we're only going to have about 60 total yards rushing...IMO.

Turnovers are going to be the difference.

Finally some discussion how exactly the DEN offense will fair vs the #1 defense in the NFL.

Maybe this should be a seperate thread as this one is about DA.

Ortho is fairly mobile for a big guy. He seemed to make decent decisions vs CHI. He did lock onto receivers a bit too much but didn't make a horrible mistakes.

I'm calling it....I don't think they'll score more than 17 points vs the Pats D.

The question then becomes...can NE score more than 17 vs a solid DEN D.

I say yes. Pats still have a decent amount of firepower to get the job done.

23-17

He looked athletic last week.

Given how long they've been around, I''ll be happy if those guys just know the basic playbook this week.

Also, might be a good night for Scott Chandler to get things going a bit.

i just finished watching last week's doncos - bears game. the thing thst stood out to me most about osweiller is that, while he has an arm, he stares down his receivers a lot. i want to see butler take demarius thomas away and mccourty eliminate sanders and make him throw to his 2nd and 3rd options.

Our quick guys are JE and DA. One is out and the other is not 100%.

IMO...BB will use size and strength with Lefell and TE's to an advantage against Bronco's very good secondary.
