Denver QB Osweiler on Facing the Patriots: 'It's just a football game'

Ian Logue

Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler is approaching this week exactly the same as he did last week against the Bears as the Patriots get set to visit.

Only one start under his belt and I'm already starting to dislike that little douche. I watched his presser during practice this week, and he just comes off as an over-confident, ****y motherfcker. I guess for him, beating the Bears defense = beating the Pats D.

That's definitely the right attitude to have. I think the biggest problems teams have is when they see meeting the Pats as some mid season super bowl or something. It feels like those games always gets away from them as soon as the Pats do good. Then the rest of the season goes to crap because they've already lost their little super bowl. It's much better to do as the Pats always do, which is to see every game as just another football game against a very good team, no more, no less.

Uh, Brock. Philadelphia-Detroit was just a football game.

Patriots-Broncos is just a football game that will seal the fate of Peyton Manning's career, determine whether your team gets a whiff of a bye in the playoffs, and show the world whether you can keep from pooping in your pants on national TV.

One of the things regarding him that's a little concerning is the Patriots seem to struggle against guys like these, with one of the problems being they don't really have any film on him. Really hope New England can get up on them early and force them to play from behind. Part of the reason the Broncos won last Sunday was because they also rushed for 170 yards so that obviously took some of the pressure off of him. Fortunately stopping the run is a strong suit of New England's defense right now and hopefully they can shut Denver down on the ground and force him to beat them in the air and force some turnovers.

Gotta stop the boot leg ....

This game is going to come down to two things:

1. Which offense can best handle the opposing defense..

2. Whether or not the Patriots offense wear eye protection.

If Brock doesn't want to talk about the Pats....get Wrecks on the horn. I'm sure he'll have hours of opinions on the Pats-Broncos. I'm betting his KC presser is Pats dominated.....you know...to take the pressure off his guys...like a master player psychologist. Maybe he'll toss the mike on the ground and swear for 5 or so minutes.....while the cameras roll. Prepping for his next gig.....sloth-like expert mediot sitting next to Terry, Howie, Jimmy, Joey, Johnny, Stevey, Larry, Louie, Bobby, Tony, PrimeTime, NoTime, SomeTimes....etc

NE killed the Tebow hype in 2011. They'll kill the Osweiler hype much sooner this time around.

one thing to note, the bears got 5 sacks on osweiller...and the pats front 7(even without collins) is much better. he seems to hold onto the ball a long time and usually is going to look towards his first progression.

he was also aided in the broncos game by rushing 170yards which protected him alot. given the pats run defense, I expect their game plan to be to stop the run and make osweiller try and make plays out of the pocket. and considering the bears got to him 5 times in a game where everything went perfectly to the broncos gameplan. could be a long night for osweiller

He's actually very luck that he's playing a decimated NEP team at home. ;)

I wonder if his team will meet the NEP at Gillette during the playoffs with many of their players back?

If so, I wonder if his tune might changer a bit?

Methinks BB will figure it out; how to stack up against him with whatever roster he has going into the game. And all the speculation in the world isn't going to change that. We should be thankful that our coach is the best in the business. :D

i'd be willing to bet they are resting peyton for the playoffs.

Once again, it's a lot easier to have that attitude when the NEP are coming to your field and don't have all of their players available. Regardless, the NEP team coming to DEN doesn't get beaten very often...and that's over many years! :D

“If Osweiler has more than one start, the Broncos have gotten him ready,” Rapoport wrote. “They had him act as the starter during several days of training camp to see how the players would respond, and how Osweiler would be as the starter. Meanwhile, Manning sat. It was the same during some Wednesdays this season, which is something Manning had to come to grips with.”

How sold are Broncos on Osweiler? Source says Elway called teams offering him in trade during 2014 season. Would have taken a 6.

Your thoughts?

I rewatched Brady's first start yesterday because the Carolina/Dallas game was so ******ed Donald Trump will probably make fun of it.

The announcers kept talking about how confident Brady was, they brought up one point where he was trying to fire up team mates, etc.

Nothing wrong with confidence, dude.

I believe I've lost my mind. I'd rather see Peyton Manning on Sunday than Brock Osweiler. o_O
