How Good Do You Think Carolina Is?

They seem to be getting more dominant by the week, while we continue to suffer setbacks with injuries on a weekly basis.

Idk just how good they really are, but they are probably trending up at a higher rate than anyone right now.

It all depends on the Pats ability to get healthy, but the Panthers weaknesses are certainly becoming harder to find ATM

Internet says Panthers are 10-1, so who to believe?

Actually wish that meme would pick up again, you know that has to drive a mental midget like Newton crazy.

11-0...but i still don't trust cam in the playoffs..we will see

They are really good. But they've also been fortunate on the injury front. Losing Bemjamin hurt but otherwise I think they've been really healthy. If they stay healthy they will be extremely tough to beat.

Defense reminds me of seattles.

Yeah they are lucky with injuries

their offense looks really one note.

I'd take the patriots 9/10 times

They are peaking at the right time. As usual, we may have peaked a bit early. Hopefully not.

The Bad News: There are three teams in the NFC I keep hearing are really scary, elite teams.

The Good News: Only one of these will appear in the Super Bowl.

very good team but if healthy i think brady can exploit them.
norman is good but what about the other db's? brady's carved up better secondaries. i would love our chances, just cant let them run the ball effectively. make cam beat you with his arm, he can't!

I didn't read through the entire thread but look at who've they played so far?

Jags
Texans
Saints
Bucs
Seahawks
Eagles
Colts
Packers
Titans
Redskins
Cowboys

Seattle and Green Bay have been the toughest teams on their schedule and both of them are really flawed.

The eye test tells me that their defense is excellent and their offense is opportunistic but that could simply be a result of poor competition thus far.

I have to wonder if they do go 16-0 should we take that banner down? I support it being up now since no other team has done it but if another team does I kind of dont want it up anymore.

for sure we take it down... BUT it will be to replace it with our 19-0 2015 season banner..

Not good enough to discuss, since they aren't winning the NFC.

I agree.
Carolina is playing good D. I especially like they are coming up with the stops/plays when needed. Love a D that can play timely.

On O, while they certainly are not incapable and are able to score high on that infrequent occasion, their O is simply not potent. While there is still some season left for it to get multifaceted and more potent, what they have right now IMHO isn't good enough to come very close to staying with a healthy Patriot team. Consider: Carolina's D would need to stifle the Patriot O and their middling O would need to outright beat the Patriots D. That doesn't add up.

Of course I'm biased :) as I think a healthy 2015 Patriot O and D will best any one of the other 2015 contenders. The Patriots have among the best Ds, they have among the best Os, they have among the best STs, and it is quite unlikely they will be out-coached/out-planned by anyone. Bottom line: the Patriots have the pieces (if healthy) to steamroll any contender IMHO....

Who do you think wins it though? To me unless Green Bay really figures things out I see it being between them and Arizona. Don't see Seattle going on a run as a wildcard. (If they even make it)

I'm not sleeping on the Panthers. You need a little luck to get to 11-0 but the simple reality is they're a very good team and most troublesome, they have belief. It's why the Patriots believe they can win from any position. The team believes in Tom Brady.

Dont know how good their are but the reaction to their success is similar to the 2003 pats during the season. Pats kept winning but people always thought they arent that good but "just dont make mistakes". If carolina had a few stud WRs and loud defensive players like the ravens , people would be crowning them more.

Looking at DVOA, they are very similar to the '13 Seahawks, and this also seems about right by the eye test. And they're trending upwards.

I wasn't worried about them before the injuries, now I'm not so sure. I'd have to see how we do against a defense like Denver first.

The argument over "who is better overall" hasn't really been relevant in the past 10 years since the 2006 Super Bowl when IND easily defeated CHI. It's only a one game matchup, it's not a best of 5 series. Many of the other SBs have featured matchups which were either basically even (2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) or saw the underdog pull off the upset (2007, 2009--almost 2008). I don't expect it to be any different this year.

Any of the top 4 teams such as New England, Carolina, Arizona, or Cincinnati can beat each other depending upon certain variables that we don't even know yet, mostly involving injury situations. There's also a second tier which likely includes 4 teams such as Pittsburgh, Seattle, Denver, and one of Minnesota/Green Bay. Whomever uses the 2 week window up to the big game better, stays healthier, and avoids costly errors will win the Super Bowl. It's a nice discussion to have on a message board, but that's about it.

Was just about to post the same thing. Two quality wins that I am not sure you can call quality at this point. First off they should not have beat Seattle, but give them credit for the comeback I guess.

I honestly don't know if they are really good or just better than terrible teams they have been playing? Atlanta isn't great and is somehow using the same TomTom that Green Bay is, but at least that game will be against a divisional opponent with a winning record. I think that game will tell us more.

I still don't believe in that offense and if Stewart goes down, which is more probable than not they will struggle mightily. And Olsen well that offense would simply hit a wall. The defense I do believe is good, very good line, Kuechly and Davis are as good of a LB pair as there is in the league, that Norman kid is leading a very good secondary as well.

Only time will tell but hard to argue with 11-0 regardless of who they played.

However one could say the same about us, although I believe a healthy Pit is better than anyone they played, and I also think the Jets and Bills are better than the Bucs and Saints as divisional games go so far. But that is just my opinion, I'm sure an argument can be made against that.
