How Good Do You Think Carolina Is?

Not a prisoner of the moment. 6 weeks to go and what they do has no bearing on what we do given their not on our schedule.

5 games is an eternity in the NFL. Who here predicted the Panthers to be 11-0 and the Cowboys 3-8 at this point of the season? Not me, I'll tell you that.

I think they are good enough to beat any team in the league.

we've seen teams coast a bit into the conference championship by winning one postseason game at home
Well yeah--that's the formula for every team with the bye: take a week off, rest up for one home game that if you win you're playing in the championship game.

It's awesome.

They are significantly worse than the 2013 'Hawks.

True, now that I think of it that 2013 Seahawks team was far better

I'd double team Olsen with Chung and Harmon

Ryan and Butler on their top 2 WRs

They are 11-0. What more can be said?

Very good team, but I think Deus is right in that they are certainly not the nightmare match-up for New England.

I think they've won 15 regular season games in a row. Know what's MOST amazing about that streak?

THE ONLY TEAM THEY HAVE PLAYED IN THAT SPAN OVER .500 WAS GREEN BAY A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.

That's it.

Still, a win is a win in the NFL, and good teams know how to win. They are a good team. Their Defense is solid at every level, their OL is powerful, and Newton can beat you in lots of ways.

I have pretty much refused to give them any credit this year, but I think it's time that I start coming around. They look like a decent team with a very optimistic defense that would certainly put up a fight against the Pats.

However, I don't think there is a more unlikable player than Cam based on personality! Not just in the NFL, but in life. For some reason that dude annoys me.

Good solid team. If Scam and Stewart stay healthy they should go deep into the playoffs. As a side the bandwagon is overflowing down here in Charlotte. Local sports radio is a hoot

I have to wonder if they do go 16-0 should we take that banner down? I support it being up now since no other team has done it but if another team does I kind of dont want it up anymore.

We already took it down, before this season started. It does not hang at Gillette any more.

Cam is a beast, but other than Olson, their other skill players IMO are mediocre. Double Olson, keep Cam in the pocket. Easier said than done of course, but there are other teams out there who's offense would give us problems.

Their defense is beastly though. We're not running on them, and their fast LBs and aggressive CBs would likely minimize YACs on a lot of short routes. It would be a struggle on offense especially with all of our injuries.

I can't see them losing at this point during the regular season, if your 11-0 your a dam good team. Can NE beat them, sure, maybe...last time they met they didn't.

I wouldn't underestimate them.

They are good enough to be representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. Maybe Arizona makes it out, but they will have to go on the road to do it.

16-0 means nothing if you get bumped in the playoffs. Are they good? sure. But being 'good' is also a function of your schedule. And their schedule is not the toughest by any stretch.

Having said that, at 16-0, 15-1, or even 14-2, they will HFA throughout. That is a great advantage to have when the rest of the NFC is average at best. The only teams that can give them fits are Arizona, *maybe* Seattle (depending on the day they're having), and maybe the Giants, but I just cant see either one of those teams beating them at Carolina.

As things stand right now, Carolina with HFA is the NFC's single clear favorite to make it to the Superbowl (I just hope they don't get there 18-0.... Re: Shula's son).

IF we make it to the Superbowl, with Edeleman back, and the rest of the roster is healthy, or as close to healthy as possible, Carolina on a neutral field does not scare me one bit. Certainly not as much as Seattle scared me last year. Seattle's defense from last year would do doughnuts around this Carolina D. If we have a healthy offense with Edelman back, I see us putting the kibosh on these kitties...
