WR Aaron Dobson placed on IR

I agree but sometimes we just need someone to run a go route.
He can do that

According to who?

He can't track a ball and has crap hands. He cant get seperation. Defenses know this. Have Harper, LaFell or Martin run one.

The problem with Dobson is he's 6'2 and plays like 5'9 whereas Edelman is 5'9 and plays like he's 6'2

he is well liked in the locker room and has a great relationship with Brady
Not saying you're wrong but are both of these true? I noticed Brady going to him quickly after he got hurt, but don't remember hearing much about him and Brady.

Because the team needs to bring in more receivers, and needs to do better than it has when drafting that position.

The New England Patriots. What team are you watching?

Tom Brady and BB.
Tom Brady and BB.
Tom Brady and BB.

It's both. Even a blind man should be able to see that.

Just great Deus. I could show you a Unicorn and you would stick your finger in its ass and tell me it smells like ****.

Had a few drinks and it has been a long day so please excuse me.

Why do we have to tolerate a "when are we going to draft a better receiver" type posts and threads? What team are those posters watching?

For those who need comfort I will guarantee you that the Pats can win a Super Bowl with Edelman, Lafell, Amendola and Gronkowski. I guarantee it. I also guarantee that Brady with those receivers can comeback from a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter against a #1 ranked defense.

The Patriots are 10-0. How did that happen with this crap pile of WR's?

Health and injuries are the problem not the WR's.

Get the Oline healthy, get edelman back, get Harper or Martin into the mix and this team is dangerous throughout the playoffs.

If White, who looked promising against the Bills, can give the Pats 70% of Lewis's production .......then Damn...watch out.

This IS a Super Bowl caliber team. Health is the only thing that will slow it down and not a freaking draft pick from 2 years ago.

You need to post more often when you're druke. ;)

Sucks.....no other way to put it..****

Dobson and Boyce....yikes.

Who has our wide receiver scout for the draft been these past 10 years?

Good WRs do drop to the later part of the first round. Look at Deandre Hopkins and Kevin Benjamine both fell to 27 and 28...one spot ahead of our pick.

I do wonder were either of these guys on our radar? Especially Hopkins in 2013

Wonder if Josh Gordon would of done better here with his drinking problem.

Ditto Justin Blackmon
Badly wanted Martavious Bryant kid is a beast.

I can see why posters are frustrated with the WR drafting as the Pats have had numerous busts there. Obviously AD is even more frustrating because it seems like he could be decent but keeps getting hurt.

What I was curious about though is what does the current crop of WR have to do with drafting for the future? You made it sound like someone was claiming we couldnt win with what we had when posters were just more concerned about future picks which the Pats will need for sustained success..

And this certainly would be the thread to voice that opinion.

Says a lot when they are willing to wait 6-8 weeks for edelman but can wait less time for Dobson. I really wanted him to do well because we needed somebody even though he was not inspiring.
They've been waiting for 2 years for that soft turkey to show up.
This move as long overdue.

I've been a Dobson supporter for a long time and unfortunately I've realized this is very true.

I've been daydreaming every now & then that they will trade a 4/5th rounder for him in the off-season

Meh. The Pats still have their 2nd and 3rd string receivers, top two TEs, and 3 decent RBs. Not sure why anyone would expect the Pats to give up a roster spot for a month to keep TB's 8th (or 10th) favorite target.

I was comparing AD's college stats to Chris Harpers
AD 4 seasons
6'3" 210lbs 165 rec, 2398yds, 24tds
Harper 3 seasons
5'11" 176lbs 163 rec, 2030yds, 13tds

Obviously AD has much more TD's but played 1 more season, I'd say overall they're pretty much equal in production. AD went in the second and was projected at least 3rd or 4th I believe not sure what Harpers projection was. My question is how much of that has to do with height and size if any ? Not that it has much to do with this thread but I was just curious...

Dobson was projected as a late 2nd to late 3rd round pick. He went where he was supposed to.
Harper was projected as a 7th rounder to UDFA.

I would say that the upside projections are what the difference makers were.

Whatever man, sign that chris mathews hey hey mvp, He has speed and size, is enough for Brady.

Chris Matthews doesn't have speed. He only has size. He runs a 4.57. He's a long strider who can't handle press coverage and has questionable hands to say the least.

Where did you get 6-8 weeks for Edelman? The prognosis for him is 4-6 weeks. Just like it was for Dez Bryant. And Bryant came back after 6.
