Says a lot when they are willing to wait 6-8 weeks for edelman but can wait less time for Dobson. I really wanted him to do well because we needed somebody even though he was not inspiring.

Edelman has at least a week on Dobson recovery-wise, which is a lot if the targeted time is already the middle of post season.

He had the ability but didn't have the toughness or mentality.

What exactly makes you question his toughness ? Was he supposed to play through broken feet and high ankle sprains ?

Sadly, you'd think that's the end of his Patriots career. It's a real shame as Dobson looks to have some ball skills but if you can't stay healthy, it's call the Not For Long league for a reason.

I think it is a bit premature to call it completely. He has one last shot at TC next summer. Edelman didn't have many more receptions in his first three years than Dobson had. I have no expectations anymore when it comes to him.

Not really. I'm a believer in Dobson but the simple fact is he's had 3 years in New England, has done next to nothing and is less durable than Shawn Crable and Ras-I Dowling. It may be time to cut our losses and move on.

I hate to bring it up, but isn't it the same with Lewis? Obviously the production isn't even comparable, but can you count on Lewis to stay healthy? I'd be interested to hear the thoughts on that.
Lewis' durability history is right there with Dobson's

For petes sakes can we just retire the number 17 I feel its super cursed.
Chad Jackson and now Aaron Dobson.
If they just would of traded up for Benjamin and drafted Bryant Martavious or didnt lowball the crap out of Sanders wr we would be in a much better spot.
Im convinced we cant draft natural receivers we need to trade for one or find a UDFA.
Remember Stefan Diggs? Wasnt he there and we drafted the Linebacker we traded to Chicago ahead of him correct?

Edelman was a great special teamer. And also was a qb converted to wr, not comparable.

Can we just CUT this guy please BB. Admit you all whiffed and move on. The guy is made of glass and frankly.....just is not that great to begin with. There are ALOT better WR out there.... Look towards the draft and FA and end this dead end project.......

At this point, can someone please explain to me why the solution for losing yet another WR is to (re-)sign yet another S?

I was hoping that that they would sign RB/WR/TE to get some production on offense .. but I know BB is smarter and knows more than me.

Had a few drinks and it has been a long day so please excuse me.

Why do we have to tolerate a "when are we going to draft a better receiver" type posts and threads? What team are those posters watching?

For those who need comfort I will guarantee you that the Pats can win a Super Bowl with Edelman, Lafell, Amendola and Gronkowski. I guarantee it. I also guarantee that Brady with those receivers can comeback from a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter against a #1 ranked defense.

The Patriots are 10-0. How did that happen with this crap pile of WR's?

Health and injuries are the problem not the WR's.

Get the Oline healthy, get edelman back, get Harper or Martin into the mix and this team is dangerous throughout the playoffs.

If White, who looked promising against the Bills, can give the Pats 70% of Lewis's production .......then Damn...watch out.

This IS a Super Bowl caliber team. Health is the only thing that will slow it down and not a freaking draft pick from 2 years ago.

Your alcohol speaks the truth.

My comment was we cant draft a quality receiver.
We do a excellent job finding diamonds in the rough.
However when we target a guy to use a mid to high draft pick on they have yet to put it all together.
Dobson,Price,Johnson, Tate.
Look at Pitt Brown,Bryant,Wallace, Wheaton.
I want their or Arizonas receiver scout.
Now I know alot of it is offensive system playbook trust level.
Ive heard we rely on timing patterns and route running more than other teams.

Getting Sanders last year means either no JE, LaFell or both.

Sanders in 2013 potentially means no DA.

Lesson: Careful what you wish for.

Because the team needs to bring in more receivers, and needs to do better than it has when drafting that position.

It's both. Even a blind man should be able to see that.[/QUOTE]
