Was just thinking, what's the list of Pats rookies who have gotten this good, this early with the Pats?

Brady
Gronk
Seymour

Is there anyone else the Pats have drafted/udfa signing that has made a bigger impact by season two?
"The Murderer" is up there but not at the level you have outlined.

I guess Greg Bedard said on the douchebag 2-6 show today that Butler had a bad game. Was one of his 3 duds.

How can someone logically come to that conclusion?

He said that? wow! I respected Butler's hustle, but I never thought he could at times cover players like Watkins one on one. I am rewatching the game and I thought he was getting lots of help for most of the time, but that is not what i am seeing. The coaches are bring him along just superbly. This is a great story.

Writers are seeing it...he's the real deal...a diamond in the rough

He will get more opportunities against big wrs. Can't wait to see a future matchup with hopkins if he stays healthy

Bedard trying to hard to think outside the box...

Sadly, since leaving for "greener pastures", the quality of Bedard's work and his opinions have been in a steady decline. He's gone from a must read to do I really need to waste my time on this crap?

Do we put Butler on Thomas ? He struggled against Decker when we played the Jets idk if Thomas would give him troubles?

In week 3, Butler did very well against Allen Robinson, who has been having a great year. He's a big receiver like DT, and very fast for his size. He also had a better QB throwing to him than DT will have this week. Could be a good match up for Butler.

However, Butler covered Sanders last year on multiple plays and was excellent in coverage.

Butler will have a big game either way.

Andrews? Stork?

I forget if SeaBass and Solder and Mankins came in and were impressive as rookies, but I think at least one or two of them were making big contributions by year two.

Anyone still believe Butler isn't a #1 CB?

This kid better get a Pro Bowl invitation (that he'll have to decline because of the Super Bowl) because he damn well deserves it.
He is not on the leader board for Pro Bowl voting at the moment. We should get on that.

Interesting to see that the leading WR in Pro Bowl voting is Odell Beckham Jr., and Butler did very well against him in their matchup. Second place in the WR Pro Bowl voting is Antonio Brown, against whom Butler held his own in the season opener.

Butler's body of work this season is actually looking pretty good, especially considering those two match ups and how he did in them as a measuring stick, he measured up well.

That David Andrews is the most voted center in the AFC shows exactly how worthless Pro Bowl voting is.

Seabass and Mankins were. Light was here during Soldier's rookie year so he didn't get a lengthy look at LT or RT.

I was think mostly skill position. Mankins and Vollmer jumped right in. Wilfork cam right in and made an impact.

I don't know if they are at Brady/Gronk/Seymour level, but they came in and made an impact. We're a little jaded when we can talk about guys like Brady and Gronk. Brady is already probably the GOAT for his position and Gronk could be GOAT at his position if he keeps his current trajectory. Tough competition for other guys to live up to.

Even guys like McCourty and mayo were good early, but it's really something that we are talking about butler as one of the best in the game already.

Seabass was great early on, but it's even hard to compare a top corner with a right tackle. What we have with butler is truly that remarkable.

Kind of a 'pie in the sky' scenario, but imagine if Revis had stayed and we had Butler, Revis and McCourty back there? Whoa.

McCourty may not have been back if we kept Revis.
