Patriots Work Out Three Free-Agent Wide Receivers Including Julian Talley

Why would it be stupid? Because he's got greater long term potential there? You do realize that the Ravens WR corps is a lot worse than the Pats, right?

So he'll decide to stay on the Practice Squad of the Ravens, where he could be dropped like a fly tomorrow, instead of sign to the Active Roster of the 10-0 defending champs.......

Yeah, brilliant. I'm glad you're not his agent.

What could you possibly be disagreeing with me my friend?

I never said he would sign here. I pointed out he was available and that he was part of a group of more talent receivers to possibly target.

Again, stop being a petulant child.

You are the one being a petulant child, particularly with your whine about the disagree button.

I disagreed with your assessment that those were the best options on the free agent market. Those have to be the worst possibilities anyone has mentioned.

Boykin has had semi-decent year with Green Bay, but couldn't stick.. Just like he couldn't stick with the Jaguars or the Panthers..

Pettis has been a disaster since he entered the league. The Chargers let him go and never bothered to bring him back despite their injury woes..

Dri Archer has accomplished nothing in this league.

And, somehow, you think that those options are better than Randy Moss, Austin Collie, or a host of others??

LOL my word....

The fact that you think a 38-year-old Moss and the oft-injured Collie (who btw is signed to a team in the CFL who would have to willingly release him in order to sign to the Pats. You talk about no guarantee with Matthews, yet mention Collie...good grief) are better options than Matthews and Archer show what kind of person I'm having a discussion with....

Moving on...

Do you know ANYTHING about Matthews other than he played for the Seahawks? Anything at all?

Let me fill you in on why he's not even an option. He's a long strider. He can't handle press coverage. He rounds his routes. He has no short area quickness. His hands are suspect.

Do you know how many receptions he has in his career? 8. Total. 4 in the Superbowl and 4 more 9 games this season.. And you somehow think the Pats would look at him?

One who is clearly smarter than you are. That is for sure. The fact that you think a guy with 8 career receptions (Matthews) and a guy who has done next to nothing (Archer) are two of the best options available shows that your level of expertise is amongst the lowest of this board..

My friend, you're a moron if you think that Bill Belichick would consider Austin Collie, who isn't available, and Randy freakin' Moss, over Chris Matthews in the year 2015.

I guess Chris Harper stinks too. He's never done anything in a game either.....You're football knowledge is suspect. Stick to Madden.

And onto the ignore button you go.....you may be easily the worst poster on this board. Glad I don't have to see your nonsense any further.

Typical troll who has to resort to putting words in people's mouth's because you can't actually use fact.

Collie IS available if the Patriots chose to pay a fee to the BC Lions to release Collie. Just goes to show how clueless you are.. (EDIT - Upon review of the CBA, I found this was incorrect. Article 20, Sec 1: No Club may sign any player who in the same year has been under contract to a Canadian Football League ("CFL") club at the end of that CFL club's season (regular season or postseason, whichever is applicable)

Sorry, @Todd Bradley , you're the only one who should stick to Madden and who has NO football knowledge whatsoever.

Gotta love how people disagree with FACTS and call others morons..
Chris Matthews - 8 CAREER receptions for 163 yards in 10 games.
Dri Archer - 7 career receptions in 20 games..

I'm a troll? Pal, look in the mirror.

I know you're capable of it, so hang with me here and use actual logic and not something you see in a video game....

Why are the Patriots going to pay a waiver fee to the BC Lions to sign Austin Collie? That has zero chance of happening. There are plenty of options on the Free Agent wire. Austin Collie for a fee is not one of them.

And what facts? This is an opinion message board. I gave mine and you went on to spew nonsense on how you think Chris Matthews is more likely to stay on the Raven's practice squad then sign to the active roster of the undefeated Pats. Where's your facts there? Do you have inside knowledge on the thinkings of Matthews? Please, provide your sources....you have any?....Okay then, if not, stop being defensive that I suggested him.

Nothing you said was factual. Just because Matthews doesn't have the resume of Randy Moss, doesn't mean a 38-year-old Moss, who's been retired for three years, makes a lick of sense to sign in 2015. This is mid-season, there's no highly regarded Pro Bowl talent out there to sign. Archer and Matthews are the cream of the crop. There's no Julio Jones out there. How you think signing someone with a small resume is dumb is beyond comprehension.

When the Pats attempted to sign Emmanuel Sanders in 2013 he had 0 TDs and a pretty underwhelming resume. You think Randy Moss would have been a better singing than him too?

Ah yes, DaBruinz, keep throwing around that Dislike button like the little, insecure, petulant child that you are.....someday you start to understand the concept of football and not what you play on PlayStation. Austin Collie and Randy Moss in 2016......what a moron.....not even worth responding to your new post. Just more regurgitated garbage.....

Randy Moss hasn't stepped foot on an NFL field in almost 3 years, and wasn't very good last time he did. He's also turning 39 in a couple months. I'd be fine with the Pats bringing him in for a workout, because the guy's been a freak his whole life, and if anyone's capable of breaking all conventional wisdom I guess it's him. But the odds of him being able to play in the NFL, at his age and three years removed from the last time he played (not very well)... well, they're not good. Dunno why anyone would be throwing his name around as anything other than a longshot.

Sorry... what? ;)

I was a big da'rick Rogers fan. He's had some issues off the field.

So much for you having me on ignore.. Yes. You are a troll.
The next time you use logic will be the first time because you haven't used it yet.

What facts? I posted plenty. Clearly you don't understand what facts are or the difference between facts and opinion. Everything about the players I said was factual. So, now we can add liar to your title as well as troll.

FACTS:
Chris Matthews - 8 CAREER receptions for 163 yards in 10 games. Rounds his routes. Not fast. Questionable hands. Can't handle press coverage.

Dri Archer - 7 career receptions in 20 games..

You did MORE than just "suggest" Matthews. You claimed he was one of the 4 best options available to the Patriots. Helps if you actually follow your own posts.

As for Emmanuel Sanders, you are so wrong it's pathetic. Clearly another case of you talking out your ass. Sanders had 1 TD, but also had played for 3 years and had 94 receptions for 1294 yards. That's significantly different than Matthews or Archer.

The fact that you think that Matthews and Archer are the "cream" of the crop shows the ignorance we are subjected to by your posting. And I know better than you that there is no Pro Bowl talent out there to sign. The players you suggested are the bottom of the barrel of the garbage, not even the cream of the crop of what's left.. That's the problem

And yes, considering the Patriots have looked into paying the fees for a CFL player previously, bringing in someone who is somewhat familiar with the offense is more likely than signing some scrub who makes Bam Childress look like an All-Pro..

Is the Collie and CFL part confirmed that he would have to be released?

"A typical CFL contract includes an NFL option window that usually begins Jan. 1 and always ends Feb. 16. Players with such options in their contracts can sign with NFL teams during that window. If later released from the NFL, the player's rights revert to his previous CFL team."

Why CFL players head to NFL now

Even more proof DaBruinz is a moron..........go ahead DaBruinz, comment and defened your flawed logic...

And right on cue the child does so....

That's not proof of anything. Especially an article written before the Current CBA was signed. But, as is typical of the clueless, you have to grasp at straws and change your argument to attempt to show your "superiority".

EDIT: The CFL CBA that was signed in 2010 after the article you posted was written eliminated the "NFL option".

Austin Collie is on the BC Lions roster of the CFL.

BC Lions

EDIT: Even if released, Collie couldn't sign with any NFL team due to Article 20, Section 1.
