I think they were each in the legal branch of the military.

You know...

Jarrett Boykin, Austin Pettis, Chris Matthews and Dri Archer are really the only name-worthy WRs available.

Looks like Bill is trying to find a diamond in the rough. At this point, any stone will work....

Better than bringing in a 38 year old Randy Moss.

Are ya sure?

Seriously, CALL BOYCE. He beats any of these guys, hands down. Make it happen if you need to add a body.

At....football? Boyce can't catch a nosebleed.

Chris Matthews is on the Ravens Practice Squad. No guarantee that he'd come here.

Here is some info on the 3: (please note - I took best recorded)

Alan Bonner - Jacksonville St. - Drafted by Texans in 6th round - 2013
5'10 2/8" - 193lbs - 9 3/8" hands - 30 1/4" arms
40 - 4.50 Bench Press: 14 reps
20 - 2.67 Vertical: 33"
10 - 1.57 Broad Jump: 9'09"

3 cone - 7.04
Shuttle - 4.09

Has Punt Return / Kick Return Experience in college.

Julian Talley -UMass - Undrafted - 2012
6'00 7/8" - 190 lbs (No Arm or hand size available)
40 - 4.57 Bench Press: 14 reps
20 - 2.50 Vertical: 41 1/4"
10 - 1.56 Broad Jump: 10'08"

3 cone - 6.65
Shuttle - 4.09

College Punt Return experience

Austin Willis - Emporia St. - Undrafted - 2015
5'8 7/8" - 176 lbs - 9 3/8" hands - 29 1/4" arms
40 - 4.35 Bench Press: 21
20 - 2.56 Vertical: 39 1/2"
10 - 1.51 Broad Jump: 10'05

3 cone: 6.98
Shuttle - 4.21

I can't find anything about Willis having served in any KR/PR capacity during his college years, but I didn't look very hard.

Willis was waived/injured by the Bills and given an injury settlement during the 1st week of the season. Willis' injury was a concussion he suffered against the Steelers on a punt return..

It is strange why the are looking at WRs with little-to-no NFL experience....

Hmm......stay on the practice squad of the 3-7 Ravens who just lost their starting QB or sign with the 10-0 Patriots and play with Tom Brady.........Yeah real tough decision there.

And next time, don't throw around the disagree button like it's candy. Nothing I said was a hot take that required such action. People on this site act so childish with these buttons....

That's not a whole lot different than saying that about a free agent. It'd be stupid to say in Baltimore.

@Todd Bradley - WTF can you possibly be disagreeing with? The fact that Chris Matthews might not want to play for the Patriots because of the lack of long term prospects here for him? Did you disagree with Miguel when he posted the exact same thing?

Go whine somewhere else, Nancy.
Chris Matthews - spend a couple weeks in an offense you may not ever learn because of it's sophistication or spend this season and next in an organisation that it hurting for WRs?

What could you possibly be disagreeing with me my friend?

I never said he would sign here. I pointed out he was available and that he was part of a small group of talented receivers to possibly target.

Again, stop being a petulant child.

Why would it be stupid? Because he's got greater long term potential there? You do realize that the Ravens WR corps is a lot worse than the Pats, right?
