Tebow out of the Slot?

Tebow might have made been decent H-back ... FB - receiving TE .... 3rd down back and special teams guy.

Not enough glory in it for him I guess .............
There is no reason to believe this other than wishful thinking.

but I would agree with them if you were talking about Russel Wilson.. to me that guy is a total fraud

He is a fraud, sadly, on television he's everything you want from a young QB.

He's tweeted out things like he'd wreck his truck and die than listen to her and next thing you know he's at her concert walking out on stage hugging her, lol

He did say "might" though so... No question Tebow was a great college football player, and a top notch "athlete". Edleman switched to "mintron" mode by hard work, and immense will. It would be ironic if the sin of "Pride" stopped what could have been a very determined Tebow from attaining super star status at a different position. And if it was going to happen anywhere, his chance with Belichick and Brady would be by far his best.

EDIT PS: Maybe he can't catch??

I thought that he'd committed to not playing in the slot until after marriage??

Lovely non sequitur. Any more logical fallacies?

Sure! Here's one: jokes don't exist.

Not sure what your problem is with me, exactly. Let's recap:

I would rather Tebow be himself rather than the fake person he is right now.

How do we know that you are really the person you are right now?

Nice deflection. How original.

Not sure what you think I was "deflecting". You might want to look up the meaning.

Apparently you agree that Tebow is faking it or Salem is your boyfriend.

You are clever. I would "think" circles around your sorry loser ass.
I dont really think so. But its cute that you have Teblow on your mind.
Here is a song for you.

Teblow on my mind.....exchanging glances........Teblow from.....

Never mind, too easy lol

It's amazing what a polarizing figure Tebow is and how he brings out these types of disagreements. The thing that's irritating for those who supported him is that after multiple chances to play QB in this league, the final of which came after however much time off the field still working on his mechanics, he still couldn't come back and be a consistent effective player. It's irritating seeing how much God-given talent the kid has and how he hasn't channeled that to another position and continued playing football. Imagine if Julian Edelman had kept that attitude and didn't play WR...hard to say if the Patriots would have won ring #4 given how many receivers have cycled through here over the years. Edelman has the physical tools to play in this league, it just obviously wasn't at QB. Although we've never seen him do it save for the throw against Baltimore in the playoffs and what I've been able to dig up on YouTube.

But maybe Tebow just decided he didn't want to get hit all the time and deal with the risks of CTE or the other physical ailments that come with playing skill positions in this league. If that's his decision, I can't fault him for it. If it's just because he wants to play QB and nothing else, then that's obviously his decision as well, it's his loss but he's fortunate enough to be the type of person who will garner endorsements and opportunities off the field where he'll be just fine. Some guys love football and will play no matter where they're asked, some guys won't. The big thing is he walked away with people feeling so good about him that they'll always wonder about what might have been if he continued playing. Hard to argue that as a player, that certainly beats people seeing you at your absolute worst and being happy to see you walk away.

And for those bickering and making gay references, let's reel those in. Using gay in a derogatory manner is unnecessary given it's not appropriate and we have several gay members on this forum and I have friends in the real world who are great people who also are. That's become more and more of an issue lately and it needs to stop.

As for the bickering as I said in another thread - it's Thanksgiving, there's no fighting in this forum on Thanksgiving. :p

Tebow seems like a nice guy and I have no indication it's an act.

I don't agree with much of the social politics that people of his religious ilk tend to have but I have no reason to doubt his sincerity or his happiness. I think you could do worse than being associated with Tim Tebow and that's okay.

Now, that being said, I don't want him as my quarterback and putting him in a position he's never played because you like him or his guts on the field is ridiculous.

I don't want him because he's a good role model and I don't want him because he's likable. I only want players that can help the team and if he had something to offer, BB would have got it out of him the first time around.

I'm fine with flawed people who fall short of our ideals. We all do from time to time. Unfortunately Tebow seems to fall into the polarizing category where you either want him to succeed in the worst way because his personality or you want him to fail in the worst way to prove he's a charlatan.

If you judge him purely as a football player, I don't think he gets another shot... I wish him well though.

I think Tebow is truly a good guy and believes everything that he preaches.. he would have been an easy guy to root for in the nfl

Your feelings towards him I don't agree with, but I would agree with them if you were talking about Russel Wilson.. to me that guy is a total fraud

I heard that Wilson is too white. ;)

Now, that being said, I don't want him as my quarterback and putting him in a position he's never played because you like him or his guts on the field is ridiculous.

It's not necessarily ridiculous, but for people who are a fan of him it has to be a little disappointing that he wasn't willing to do what Edelman did and make the attempt to play a different position. But again, it's his decision. If he's happy being an analyst at ESPN if he can't play quarterback, obviously he seems fine with it.

Just poking some fun, it's more out of frustration really because I like Tebow and would like for him to be playing football because he's a player I could root for.. its frustrating as a fan to see him basically walk away from the game because he doesn't want to consider a position change

I have no problems with him as a person.. ****, he's a way better human being than me

Didn't realize people were so sensitive of Timmy Tebow

I'm not sure how you could have missed the sensitivity to him. It's amazing the negative reactions that the mere mention of his name brings out, and it has nothing to do with his football abilities, and he's a better person than a good % of the players in the NFL.

As for his football ability, I remember watching him beat the Mevis Jets in a game, and on one of the runs just before he ran it in for a game winning TD, he got into the secondary and squared up to Mevis as if to say, if you want to try and stop me you're going to have to take a hit. Mevis ran away from him and wanted no part of getting in front of that train.

I wonder why he insists on playing QB. I'd like to see him in another role.

Quite the indulgence in wishful thinking.

That's what makes me believe that Tebow is exactly the person he says he is. If he had any skeletons in his closet someone would have found them. There are more than enough people looking.
