Injury Update: Dobson's X-rays give good news

just head that amendola has a sprained knee and could play this week against denver.

Why is it that the Patriots always end up drafting "fragile" players?

If Dobson is on IR, that will be that LAST we will be seeing him....

Actually, this seems to be partly intentional. They're drafting at the bottom end of the early rounds each year. By default, the blue-chip elite prospects will be taken first. So by the time the Pats come up, they can either take someone who doesn't have the ceiling of the elite guys, or they can take someone who does but has a red flag.

Seems like they prefer the latter route, hoping that it'll work out and they can remain competitive with the other teams who are adding the elite guys. The red flag they appear willing to do it with is injury history. Players selected under this philosophy include Dominique Easley, Chandler Jones, Rob Gronkowski, and Ras-I Dowling. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's not often that the real blue-chip elite talent actually falls to them - Wilfork the major example, Malcom Brown wasn't as highly regarded as Wilfork but the situation was similar there.

They always do?

Does everyone remember when the NEP drafted Dobson? He was the guy with "sure hands"; never dropped the ball. Personally, I was thinking, OK- here's a guy with a little height (for a WR) and sure hands...he should be great with Brady throwing to him. But how much have we seen him on the field in almost 3 years? Every year it's been: Dobson looked good in practice. Is he a legitimate NFL player?

Now hold on a second there. Let's give some credit when credit is due. The training staff's notorious poor conditioning also gets some of the credit for too much fragility/injury.

I know the board has a hard on for Chris Harper but having Dobson on the field might benefit the patriots a little bit

ive said this on so many occasions before, but i have a feeling this will be the alst time, one way or another:

it's going to be hilarious if Dobson comes back next week or a couple of weeks while Danny is a bit hobbled and Julian is still out and produce like we've never seen him produce

what a tough break for him (and i dont think any other two words have been used together on this board quite as often as "dobson" and "tough break" in the past 3 years)

I bet that the female PatsFans posters never get tired of other posters mocking players by comparing them to women.

IMHO the female Pats Fans posters are ultra cool, and very tolerant of us stupid guys here with our immature and silly but mostly benign locker room humor.

It's a few of the male posters here that might want to check the PSI on their balls. ;)

(see what I did there? LOL)

I think you'd be surprised, but this is exactly the douchebag response I expected, I just didn't know from whom.

Great, so in a month he can come back, miss 2 catches, make 1 and then get injured again. I'm kidding (kind of) I hope we can get him back asap

The past 2 weeks he's caught the only 2 catchable balls thrown to him....and the last one was a GREAT catch.

I recall a time when posters here were telling the Pats to cut bait on the "glass" Edelmans and Amendolas of the team. And for a good 2 months last year, the denizens were calling #19 "LaFail".
