Danny Amendola Injury Watch 2015

Too bad he's a disgraced drunk and quack who had his medical license revoked, or he'd be worth listening to.
He may be a drunk and a quack. But he's still right on the money most of the time when it comes to analyzing injuries like this

For some unimaginable reason, everybody decries Doc Chao as a fraudulent quack when he predicts IR, and cites his strong track record when he guesses the injury is minor. ;)

(As far as I can tell, you wouldn't want the man to operate on anyone you know, but he does have an excellent track record IDing injuries from video.)

he would have been in a lot more pain.
Amendola played with his groin torn off the bone in 2013 so who knows what his pain level was last night, he is a tough little fella.

Are you kidding?
No. You see it all the time with players cut or traded and do well against their former team because of perceived slights. I'm not saying be a world beater but just be somewhat productive so your former team can regret getting rid of you. Same as in our workplace.

I hope he is going to be OK, I just get nervous when there is no contact and then the player doesn't return to the game.
There were several reports that he was injured after being tackled on the long pass completion during the previous series.

This.

This team is going to the playoffs.

They need that 1st round bye badly.

Get players as close to 100% as possible.

Get the o-line right.

That'll do.

If they beat Denver, they'll effectively have a three-game lead with five games to go, since they'll be 11–0 to Denver's 8–3, and they'll have HTH. They could drop three of those last five games at that point and still be guaranteed a first-round bye.

Oh I was not aware of that, thanks for the info.

Amendola would probably play with a high ankle sprain, torn ACL and one arm if the team let him.

On the White TD run he was hobbling noticeably.

They could. Just need to find that balance of trying to win and trying to win at all costs.

I have confidence that BB will do that.

Insane for him to be out there returning punts.

Its also insane for brady to be in there playing QB.

Wait thats not right, you want your best players doing what they do best. Amendola is the LEAGUE LEADER in punt returns this year. You can't just sit someone because you are afraid they are going to get hurt.

Why would anyone think otherwise? This team has been screwed by injuries to key players that have derailed seasons. Sure, be "positive" all you want, but this is an injury to a player who's had a history of missing games due to injury. I'd love for him to be back in Denver & play, but history says he won't and history says he'll be out an extended period of time.
People on here were saying Solder would be back the next week because "he was in the locker room." People on here were also saying that Lewis would be back in a "few weeks." The fact that Amendola didn't go to the locker room means nothing, just like the fact that Solder was in the locker room post game means nothing.
So....six weeks because....reasons?

See Mike Loyko's tweet stream.

We WON last week in no small part because of a DA punt return.

And he did it again THIS week.

Harper looked lost on punts - these are important plays.

True. However, I would rather have Amendola, especially at this time, play on the regular offense and focus solely on that. Even though the punt is an important play, it is a high risk play where the opponent is running at the returner from 50+ yards out with a full head of steam. Not the best place to put your only available WR in. At this point the Patriots are better of settling for a fair catch every time, while putting the game in the hands of their best player.

That's interesting, considering his play last year got considerably better once he started returning kicks. I think Danny is a player that feeds off some rhythm, and the more you allow him to do, the more effective he gets at each aspect. He's a football player.

You hear this alot over the years and I have been guilty of it too. Special teams helps win games and championships. It has always been a staple of the Belichick Patriots (Brown, Bruschi, Welker, Amendola, on and on..) Some of the biggest most important plays of championship years happen on special teams. Belichick uses his best players at the role. Belichick obviously knows what the **** he is doing.

Agreed. Dropping 3 of the last 5 doesn't sit well with me, though.

Actually I think HOU, NYJ and MIA will be competitive games anyway.
