Danny Amendola Injury Watch 2015

It's gonna be nothing major. If it was, he would have been seen going into the locker room to possibly never being seen again this year.

We are worried about Denver and the other games. The Pats are worried about January and February.

This.

This team is going to the playoffs.

They need that 1st round bye badly.

Get players as close to 100% as possible.

Get the o-line right.

That'll do.

A grade one sprain is a 10 day recovery. If Amendola has that, he might only miss a week at most. But the way he played through a groin tear, I wouldn't be shocked if he plays Sunday.
Is there any word on what he has?

he worsened his groin injury by playing through it. sit him if you have to.

Actually, I don't think he did. I think it was case that it was torn and it was going to get no better or no worse.

And every injury is different. Some you can play through because it can't get any worse. Others you have to rest or it could get worse. So it depends what he has.

It was torn off the bone, so he didn't make it worse. I agree, though, that it will be a factor in whether he plays this week.

I'm no doctor, but '"playing through" any kind of knee ligament situation doesn't sound like the category of "some you can play through". Especially if getting it right would mean missing only one game that is on the other side of the country, at 5,000 feet elevation with only a 5 day prep time.

That being said, I'll defer to the experts.

I've sprained my PCL, it can be a tough injury to run or cut with. But I'm no football player, I know it was pretty painful to ride my dirt bike for several weeks. I say sit him.

The twitter doctor, David Chao, not exactly a legitimate authority, though he was correct about Dion Lewis, thinks Amendola has a mild PCL sprain at worst. Let's hope he's correct.

Too bad he's a disgraced drunk and quack who had his medical license revoked, or he'd be worth listening to.

The difference is that we're already down a major part of our offense, and you could see some of the struggles last night.

If the backup were lost as well, the offense would be insanely predictable and much easier to defend. You double Gronk and take your chances with everyone else. The lack of an adequate running game only adds to the woes.

In other words, I doubt that Troy Brown was taking on the exact same STs role when he was forced to play CB, and that's simply because we couldn't afford to lose him.

If we're concerned about the risk of injury, Dola shouldn't be playing WR, and certainly not in the slot where he goes over the middle a lot more. But at some point, you just have to play football.

I just don't see any evidence to suggest punt returns are any more dangerous than regular passing plays. I might argue the opposite actually.

As for Brown, his role in ST was reduced but not eliminated. In 2004, he got 3 INTs as a cornerback, caught 17 balls as a WR, and was second on the team in punt returns with 12. He returned 4 punts in week 2, then didn't return a punt for a while, but returned 5 more in weeks 11 and 12 when he had been established at corner, and another 3 returns week 15. He was also the team's primary punt returner in the play-offs.

BTW, ****ing Troy Brown, what a football player he was!

Does anyone really think Amendola won't miss 3-5 games? Just the way injuries are w this fckuing team...I'm guessing out 6 weeks
Of course you're guessing that he's out six weeks. Does a camera zoom in on your face and a sound effect play when you say this **** in real life?

Why would anyone think otherwise? This team has been screwed by injuries to key players that have derailed seasons. Sure, be "positive" all you want, but this is an injury to a player who's had a history of missing games due to injury. I'd love for him to be back in Denver & play, but history says he won't and history says he'll be out an extended period of time.
People on here were saying Solder would be back the next week because "he was in the locker room." People on here were also saying that Lewis would be back in a "few weeks." The fact that Amendola didn't go to the locker room means nothing, just like the fact that Solder was in the locker room post game means nothing.

LOL. He wasn't taken off the sideline and there's nothing to indicate yet that he's basically done for the regular season. You may be right in the end. Who knows? But as of right now it's you just being negative as always. I'm beginning to think that it's schtick at this point.
