As relentless as our dline was last night. Remember we get Collins back this week. Pair our dline with butler and ryan playing out of their minds right now and you have a damn solid defense

And Mayo started to look like old mayo last night.

Could be a long night for osweiller

Depending on how much weight he has lost and how much strength and weight he has regained, Collins is 50/50 next weekend. Even if he does play he will not be a 60 snap player. In addition, playing in that altitude does wind you. Only way to overcome it (kind of) is to hydrate like hell and with his stamina in question, I'm not expecting much from Collins next week.

Mayo played his best game of the year. Still not 2012 Mayo but he played pretty well.

Freeney is horrible in coverage. My god.

I don't have the ability to rewatch game film, but Easley's burst off the line is insane. I saw him being double teamed at least three times in the second half.

I'm with a few others. I almost look forward to seeing the defense more than the offense at this point. Can't say I've said that since 2004 or so.

This is definitely a 2003-2004 quality defense.

How many points will Denver score against this defense after managing just 17 against the Bears? The Bills have a much better offense than Denver at this point in the season.

And, it's highly likely that Collins and Siliga will be back for this one.

I think it is close to that level. This is a 4-3 scheme in a different NFL where the running game has been devalued and holding the QB to 60% and a passer rating of 80 is now considered a great effort. It's hard to compare this defense to 2003-04 because that era had different objectives. This defense is able to make timely plays and is great on clear passing downs.

We hardly even mention that we are missing out best overall defensive player who is a top 10 in the NFL.

The really need Collins in there for Freeney.

It's better than the 2014 defense though, that's for sure.

Hmmmm.

Interior D-line: 2015
Defensive Ends: 2015
ILBs: 2015
OLBs: 2015
Outside CB: 2014 but 2015 is collectively improving. Ryan > Browner.
Inside CB: 2014. I'd kill for Arrington right now. Coleman > Arrington
FS: 2015 Harmon has improved
SS: 2015 Chung is playing better.

I'd say you are right.

1) We need Collins back.

2) We also need more than Butler and Ryan, who are having great seasons.

Brock will be a bit flustered next week.

Collins and Hightower work so incredibly well together. I felt last night Hightower had to play a lot safer with fewer attacking plays. With Collins in, they can pass responsibilities off to each other, making them so much more dangerous than they are individually.

I actually think this is one of the reasons mayo never had the huge gaudy sack numbers, since he never had that guy to share the job with.

On another note, with the amount of injuries on offense, the D has been largely left healthy outside of some short term issues. The biggest benefit has been seeing the continued growth of so many players, as they have been able to learn their position without too much responsibility. Butler, Ryan, brown, easley have all grown immensely over the season.

I imagine we will see the best Patriots defense this coming week then we have seen in a long long time. Sheard was a menace last night, mayo is getting back to himself, Collins should be back, branch and nicks are gigantic, and all the growth across the board from all the kids. I am expecting a team looking to show itself off to the leagues "best defense".
