Danny Amendola Injury Watch 2015

Moss knows the route tree.

Wayne doesn't. And couldn't learn it.

Wayne's not happening.

I think Wayne is more likely more game ready. And he is a smart player who could pick it up quickly.

And does Randy know the offense? If he was to come back, he couldn't play the same role he did back in 2007-2010. And that offense was modified to make him a focal point and play to his strengths. No way would they do that now.

I don't expect Wayne or Moss being added to this roster, but I think it is crazy to think either will. I would rather call Deion Branch. They need right now is a guy who can run the short quick routes, not a vertical route runner.

Brady has not played a game since 2006 without either Welker, Edelman, or Amendola on the field.

I think he ends up on IR, maybe a roster spot for NE to grab someone, don't know who somonee is but they have to find a guy.

WOW! This was the first post/reply I read in this thread...being placed on the IR. Then, I saw you were talking about Dobson, of whom I just made a post in the Dobson thread. For a minute there, I was wondering how/why Amendola would be placed on the IR. Yikes!

Sorry about that lol

If Reggie Wayne is in shape I would welcome him back 10-0 Team he couldn't ask for a better scenario.

So next week, the Pats start Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Josh Boyce - Denver would be so confused, it'd be 21-0 Pats before they realized the game had started!!!!

Any time a player suffers a noncontact injury to their knee I become concerned, I think he pay have torn his ACL, but I am hopeful that is not the case. Amendola is on pace for a career year, and could have had a career night last night if not for the injury.
he would have been in a lot more pain.

I'm going to that jets game.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jimmy G. destroy the Green Beans on the way to 15-0.
Ahhh I think I just figured out Josh's secret plan... Garoppolo out of the slot!!!

Can't wait for Alex Guerrero to get his Anti-WR-Injury Blender to market.

Danny Amendola will have knee surgery and will use Brandon LaFell's healthy ACL as a graft to repair Amendola's knee. Both players are out for the season. They will go under the knife simultaneously.

Also, every member of the New England Patriots has just contracted lupus.

(This is all just a joke...no report at this time of knee surgery/ACL stuff.)

Yes I agree. And that's why I wrote that i thought we are arguing over semantics.

All healthy players should obviously play until HFA is clinched. My entire point was that I rather risk losing in Denver than get into a situation where dinged up players aggravate their injury and are out even longer because of that. If the MRI shows that Dola is mostly fine and the doctors determine that the risk of him playing on Sunday is minimal I will be very happy and of course want him to play.

Agreed!

Wayne has never worked in a complex offense. The Manning-era Indy offense was probably the simplest in the NFL, all precision and almost zero complexity in terms of the mental demands on the WRs. so an Ochocinco-esque inability to make his reads and know the resulting routes on the fly is a distinct possibility. He may have gotten there if he'd been here all season, but coming in off the street in week 12 there's just no way.

Unfortunately, I think Moss and Branch could both be readily called upon from a mental standpoint (Moss was always one of the best here at reading coverages and getting his assignment right, Belichick called him the smartest he's coached for a reason), but probably don't have what it takes to get it done physically.

Wayne is the most likely to be physically ready, but I doubt he could get mentally prepped on such short notice. Of the three, I doubt any of them are both physically and mentally game-ready for the Pats' offense. I'd take Boyce ahead of them all, and that's not exactly an endorsement of Boyce.

What's Paul Warfield doing?

The twitter doctor, David Chao, not exactly a legitimate authority, though he was correct about Dion Lewis, thinks Amendola has a mild PCL sprain at worst. Let's hope he's correct.

Does anyone really think Amendola won't miss 3-5 games? Just the way injuries are w this fckuing team...I'm guessing out 6 weeks

He has a pretty high hit rate with his "hot takes". Even called Edelman's injury pretty soon when talking about worst case.
