Danny Amendola Injury Watch 2015

It looked to me like another foot injury for Dobson. If that's the case I would say he has probably played his last snap for the Patriots, possibly in the league.
I think he ends up on IR (Edit: Dobson - don't want Anyone to have a heart attack lol), maybe a roster spot for NE to grab someone, don't know who somonee is but they have to find a guy.

Anyone think this guy has anything left and deserves a call?

Moss is a bit more recent, no?

It's not like I suggested Stanley Morgan which would be a ridiculous suggestion since he is too old. Troy is still a spry, young 44 years old.

My dream is for the Pats to go 14-0 with the Jets & Dolphins games being meaningless! This would be the perfect opportunity to rest our nicked up players!

I'm going to that jets game.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jimmy G. destroy the Green Beans on the way to 15-0.

LOL, I get the humor, but Moss is 6 years younger and looks in pretty good shape.

Troy looks like he is battling the same belt buckle battle I'm battling (admittedly, he's doing it better).

Yes. Anyone who's seen Troy Brown on CSN can easily tell he's not shying away from the dinner table....

Yeah I think I fundamentally disagree with almost everything you wrote.

First of all, you have injured players right now so you also need to deal with them right now. Lets look at e.g. Amendola who had a knee issue that prevented him from coming back into the game. In what universe does it make sense to rest him later on if he has the issue right now ? You either determine that he is more probable to worsen his injury if he plays or you find that this is not the case and he plays. There is no scenario where it makes sense to play him against Denver just because they are an AFC co-contender and then let him rest a week later. That makes no sense. It is either an injury that needs healing time and he should sit out the Denver game (and maybe more) or he doesn't need to sit out any game at all (until HFA is clinched).

Secondly, and this might be a discussion centered around semantics but to me personally games against inferior opponents are must wins and games against co-contenders are not. There is so much less margin of error against equal teams that I don't see how you could consider them "must wins" - even with us at full strength. The former are games that we will win if we don't screw up the turnover battle (or encounter too many crippling injuries) whereas the latter are games that can go either way even if we play a turnover free game.

By that logic winning the games against the Eagles, Texans, Titans, Dolphins and Jets is more important than a win against Denver. Because if we win out against all inferior opponents on our schedule it doesn't matter what happens in Denver. Now guess what makes games against inferior opponents unnecessarily difficult ? Exactly, unavailable players.

Also.. please don't bother to explain to me all those AFC seeding scenarios because I am fully aware of them. I know the implications of losing in Denver.

Finally, I never said we should start resting players for the postseason. I simply don't want to risk the health of dinged up players for the rest of the season over a single regular season game. Even if it is against the frakking Broncos.

You’re missing my point. Nowhere did I write we should force injured players into the line up next week. Obviously if Amendola or Dobson, or anyone else is not capable of playing, he should be benched. There’s no disagreement here. What I AM saying is if we have any HEALTHY players, we should not ‘healthy-scratch’ them just so they can get res – that’s what I meant in my original post. We need all available hands on deck for next week so we have head to head advantage on the donkeys. Until (if) we get to the point where HFA throughout is locked, every game is important. Denver in Week 11 is too early to let the foot off the gas. I think you’d agree with me when I say It would not be idle (to say the least) if we end up needing to go to Denver in the playoffs. I think you’d agree with me that having HFA throughout is paramount.

I asked this earlier, but no one responded. Did anyone else see Amendola on the hands team with 3:30 left in the game or were my eyes playing tricks on me???

pretty sure your eyes were fooling you. guy at the top right is scott chandler, we can see chung, ebner, hightower, ninkovich, and gronk, and mccourty (off the screen) fielded the kickoff. none of the four guys on the line at the top left look like amendola (two of them are freeny and ryan).

Moss was done two years ago. He's not coming back. He is just not the same receiver. Just because he can run fast in a foot race doesn't mean he can duke it out with a defender going down field and hit the routes when he needs to.

If Moss could be even an average WR, he would be playing for someone.

I would rather take another shot at Reggie Wayne than Randy Moss.

Yes I agree. And that's why I wrote that i thought we are arguing over semantics.

All healthy players should obviously play until HFA is clinched. My entire point was that I rather risk losing in Denver than get into a situation where dinged up players aggravate their injury and are out even longer because of that. If the MRI shows that Dola is mostly fine and the doctors determine that the risk of him playing on Sunday is minimal I will be very happy and of course want him to play.

The injuries are just ridiculous. This is not good. Any word on dobson?

I think its home free after the Denver game, all 500 or sub 500 teams.

Advice: The stat book doesn't tell the whole story. Look at what is happening on the field in Houston the past several weeks with that defense.

Moss knows the route tree.

Wayne doesn't. And couldn't learn it.

Wayne's not happening.

He hasn't played in this offense since 2010.

He hasn't played a game since 2012.

Not a chance Moss comes here.

I agree. Was juxtaposing it versus the calls for Troy Brown or Reggie Wayne.

Any time a player suffers a noncontact injury to their knee I become concerned, I think he pay have torn his ACL, but I am hopeful that is not the case. Amendola is on pace for a career year, and could have had a career night last night if not for the injury.
