Defense is the reason why we won last night.

Can't understand why the OL was so unprepared to deal with the exotic blitzes by Rex. It's not like they didn't know they had to deal with something like that.

Or why McD didn't call enough plays that have receivers run across to take advantage of space opening up in the middle from blitzes.

Our offense looked like they didn't practice all week.

And that throw by Brady to Harper deep that turned into an INT was really inexplicable.

Our defense was awesome though. All units played great.

Our team looks worn out and we just reached halfway point of the season.
The Bills didn't actually send extra rushers as much as you think they did. A lot of times, they were rushing 3 and 4 with a good amount of success. Crossing routes, outs, and quick slants would have been and were (when they were called) well defended.

The Bills front 4 is ridiculously good. Mix that in with Rex Ryan defensive brilliance and add a splash of injuries and inexperience on the offensive line and you get a ton of hits on Brady. I am not sure why people are surprised that the Bills gave the Patriots such a hard time. It is like you are living in a fantasy realm where the Patriots offense, with backup OL and missing their most dynamic weapons should go out and beat the snot out of every team.

The defense on the other hand played great, they're still giving up a lot of rushing yards but that's part of the game, Shady is a great RB. .
They gave up 94 yards on 30 carries with their best defensive player out. That's a great performance on run D. Not only did they contain Shady, Tyrod, and Karlos, but they punished them too. Those boys will be spending Thanksgiving in the ice tub.

Could you please cite the plays???
No I didn't dvr it. I remember brady getting one in the chin or close to it, getting hit a few times after the play, and taylor getting a helmet to helmet after a play... why would I just make it up?

The two hours of commercials for every hour of play killed me. I'm going to DVR and start watching after a half hour. That was an exhausting marketing blitz. I felt brainwashed by the end of the game.

Rex had a pretty good plan (disrupt Brady). Fortunately, disruption is easier said than done. Brady is one tough SOB and played as well as could be expected under unrelenting pressure and O line miscues.

The Refs = clown show.

Defense stepped up big:
  • 3-15 allowed on 3rd down.
  • 4 turnovers
  • great pass defense

It looked to me like Chung was being asked to play out of position as a nickle corner. Not a happy situation.
I felt that was part of the game plan to put the hits on McCoy in the backfield. Part of their counter was to throw to McCoy more in coverage. Chung made some good wrap up tackles and played some good coverage, but he definitely isn't made for coverage and should not be playing receivers tight at the line without even bumping them.

Speaking of which the refs bailed them out on that play, that should have probably ended up as a delay of game or them burning their last time out. Instead they threw in a late review of a 2nd and 1 catch...stupid..
The refs definitely gave them a free timeout on that 2nd and 1 on a seriously sketchy review. He was more than a yard from the 1st down and there wasnt really any question of where to mark the ball. Maybe a question of when to mark the ball dead to put time on the clock, but you don't stop the game for that.

Maybe Rex shouldn't have slammed his headset on the ground at the end of the first half.

Are you talking about the Sheard hit in the first half?

This D is good...and people don't give them enough credit.

I was at the game last night. Don't really have a voice and my head is pounding but another great time. People were at the point of throwing or almost throwing stuff at that BS whistle...what a joke.

Uhh and if DA injury is serious...we need help ASAP...but it really can't come from anywhere.

If him and Edelman are out...teams can just double gronk like no tomorrow and jam him at the line like last night. More tougher games ahead due to injuries. Cursed with these injuries.

To think we have Lewis and Edelman on O...we would have played much better vs them even with the OL being ehh. Praying for DA

Look, there are lots of non-calls all game. Patriots got jobbed on a ton of pass interference calls, holding, etc....you just have to live with them

so true,,,we have become so spoiled..

on another note, what the heck is up with 1/4 of the red seats empty at the half and why is that place so damn quiet? every time i go there *granted it's buffalo and maybe thats the reason* it's like i can talk to people without yelling.... you CAN NOT do that in buffalo.

The red seats belong to people who have ($$$) "club" tickets. That means they have access to the big glassed-in lounge area immediately behind those red seats. Those people often abandon their seats and hang out inside. Many of them are also the kind of ticketholder who won't make much noise even when they are outside.

Finally, the stadium is designed horribly for directing noise onto the field. And our greedy owner throwing out 1500 long-time season ticket holders to make an endzone lounge doesn't help things, either.

with jules out and now maybe danny, the OL has to protect brady better..I know, stating the obviouse here.
If Brady has more time, he can be effective without his top weapons....but constant pressure without those weapons and it's not going to be pretty...yet they still won last night because the D stepped up.

yeah, tyrod could do without those shots as well. the bill's are done, urbik is horrible, tyrod is hurt and ej doesn't belong my class F farm town football team where everyone plays both directions. roman as o.c. is not impressive. until they get a decent offensive line, it'll be offensive for a few more years but like every thing sports in buffalo........... there's hope until their out by math and then we just hope for next.

combination of being spoiled with success...and Pats fans know when the important games are. Week 2 games are not our Super Bowls.

Feeling thankful.

Thankful for the win. The D played really well. They held up against the run, kept Taylor in the pocket and covered as well as could be expected for a team with only two cornerbacks. James White answered the call. Danny Amendola was ridiculous and Aaron Dobson made the best catch of his career.

Yes, the O-line was indescribable (I'm glad that Brady is still alive) and the injuries are really, really painful. But a team that battles through adversity is something to be proud of.

true, but seemed like shady was consistantly gaining 4+ yards on 1st down

Steratore is Italian for "inept douchenozzle."

Sadly, he is one of the better ones in the NFL. He and his crew are usually pretty good. Last night though was just a complete clusterfvck of officiating.

But my reaction after being 10-0

A little advice if you don't mind. Wait at least an hour before you start to watch. I usually wait an hour and a half because I also don't watch halftime and those band of clowns.

Now, if your watching one and taping another at the same time, then you can watch the one live and watch the taped game during the breaks. That works pretty well too, but you might miss a few things in the live game as you bounce back and forth.

There's also the Discount Double DVR method, which allows you to record and watch both games in any way you want. My system won't allow me to watch anything other than DVRed programs when taping two things at once (the maximum).

As for the Bills defense, I was wondering if they weren't using a system that allowed them to change the defense or the rush based off of the calls that Brady made about the mike on each play. They seemed to be guessing right much more than they were guessing wrong.

The defense was huge, but considering the amount of injuries on offense, I thought the offense did well too.

Now the team gets to go to Denver on a short week with a holiday in the middle. I'm sure that's just a coincidence by the schedule makers of the NYJFL. I wouldn't be surprised if they won in spite of it all. This team is special.

Who the hell cares about whether he was down or out of bounds. ************.

This is the correct answer. The refs ran off two seconds. It's not like jobbed the Bills out of a minute of game time.
