@AdamSchefter: Jets waived former former first-round pick OLB Quinton Coples, whom they once drafted ahead of Chandler Jones.

@RichCimini: Dee Milliner missed 2 days of practice w/ an illness, but he was listed as probable. Thus, a healthy scratch. Ninth pick in '13 draft. #nyj

Onto the scrap heap of Jets' pass-rushing busts like Vernon Gholston and "Bowling Ball with Knives"

and every team has waived someone who was drafted ahead of somebody else...

Your point is that the Jets blew a draft choice when they could of had someone else who outperformed that player? Welcome to the draft and the NFL.

Remember how much **** Jets fans were talking for a solid year about how Coples was way better than Jones and Rex 'owned' Belichick again? I remember.

Turns out that when the con on a guy is "doesn't seem to really care about football", you probably shouldn't take him in the first round.

The jests seem to be more proficient than others when it comes to blowing first rnd draft picks.

If you don't take a little extra pleasure out of it because it's the Jets, I have some serious questions about you.

And before anyone suggests it, no, I wouldn't want him on the Pats. Only way I could get on board with it at all is if he's available for the minimum after clearing waivers, and even then only because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't last long and want him to be easily disposable.

The question is what would have happened if Belichick had drafted Coples and the Jets drafted Jones.

I'm guessing Coples would be playing like a beast right now.

Rex has already put the claim in for him.

I'm shocked!

The Rat boards have talked about trading him.

Are you telling me Coles isn't worth at least a 2nd round pick?

:D

Especially when the team appears to be completely stocked at DE. Astounding how much that position changed in the past couple years.
