I love how inept flacco is now that he doesn't have torrey Smith getting pi calls for him

Can you guys remember when in 2012 they were dead sure they will draft the heir to Ray Lewis in Hightower? I mean they were partly right but Crybaugh was outsmarted off the field too.

It is way beyond just Torrey Smith. Flacco typically has one of the very best offensive lines in football, an excellent running game, and an opportunistic defense that essentially wins games when it's close. They always keep him in it, no matter how inept he is. I was watching the Arizona game the other night, with the Ravens typically getting nothing from the $22M man (who isn't expected to carry his team like everyone else with that price tag). The Ravens blocked a punt and got the ball on the one yard line. Next play Flacco hits a wide open TD pass. The commentators: "And Joe Flacco has brought the Ravens back in the game." This was a great microcosm for Flacco's career; a good quarterback would have been on the winning end of a lot of blowouts during the Ravens hayday; Flacco is the guy who overcomes his own numerous mistakes and shortcomings and gets the job done with the minimal performance and is praised as a "winner."

The numbers don't lie. Flacco has a career 84 passer rating which is four points lower this season. There is virtually no difference. He is the same guy he's always been, just no longer given every imaginable tool for success. You are just seeing him as always, with the curtains pulled down and the trumpets muted.

I wonder what the connection is that gives the Ravens a free ride from Fraudger, and not just about crying about calls. He was about to take care of the Ray Rice situation for them, but then the video came out. Anyone have any ideas what he likes so much about the Ratbirds?

We definitely need to get this thread back up top with the Ravens losing at home to Jacksonville and falling to 2-7!!! I really need to start watching these games on Sunday Ticket just to pause the game on Harbaugh's face of despair throughout.

Here's some logic for you. There are only eight active QBs who have won one or more Super Bowls. For you statistical geniuses, that is 25% of the starting QBs in the Not For Long league. Call it luck, serendipity, fate or whatever you want but its an elite group of QBs. It includes in no certain order Joe Flacco, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady and Ben Rothlisberger. All but the last two elite QBs lost yesterday. Anyone who wants to argue that any of the above listed QBs is not elite is free to do so but the truth is this is the Elite Eight. Ask Dan Marino or Jim Kelly whether they would trade any or all of their single season or career stats for a Super Bowl victory and which defines a career more. Records are made to be broken. Ask Brett Favre or Johnny U if he were alive. Joe Flacco is headed for his first 4,000 yard season. I'll bet it will mean very little to Joe but don't believe me 'cause I'm not logical like you experts. Ask Joe. Like Vince Lombardi said, "Statistics are for losers." He once had an elite QB named Bart Starr who would do whatever it took to win and always put the goals of his team ahead of his own goals. He reminds me a lot of Joe Flacco.
