A very solid game in his first start by Brock Osweiler. He held on to the ball too long and didn't work through his progressions very well, but he also protected the ball and let the defense win the game. The Broncos are in win now mode and there is no way that Peyton sees the field for the foreseeable future. I watched the game with a couple of Bronco/Manning fans and they went from Peyton will start next week to Peyton should be put on IR today. :)

bears did everything to lose that game...and they accomplished their goal.

lets see if kubiak has the balls to bench peyton..maybe they'll just place him on the IR list.

If the Broncos beat the Pats next week, and they certainly can, you have seen the last of P6 in Denver.

The funny thing is that Osweiler didn't even look that good. He reminded me of young Joe Flacco, kinda. Serviceable QB who might develop into something good, but by no means a world-beater or anything. But Peyton set the bar so low that he looks fantastic by comparison.

Brandon, in all honesty do you really think he looked that good? I think he pretty much did what was asked of him, which was not turn the ball over and a lot of short passes. He held on to the ball a long time, which led to a handful of sacks. On the second touchdown, the defense was terrible and he was watching the receiver the whole time. Also let's not forget who they were playing. I'm confident there will be a different outcome seven days from now.

A winning formula with that Denver defense.

54 in pass attempts in his career ....

A little bit of film as always will determine if he has any Wally in his Pipp.

In any case ... doubt he throws as many INT's as Peyton did.

So, during halftime of the game tonight, a friend of Manning's said Peyton will be back to play next season, either for the Broncos or some other team.

Some other team?

That team will be a team without a QB but with excellent wide receivers.

The Jets? The Bills? The Browns? The Rams? The Eagles? The 49ers?

I'd guess from those listed, the Rams would work if they stay in that dome. Can't picture him anywhere cold.

He'll probably give our defense fits because we're a gameplan team and there's not enough film on it.

We've seen it dozens of times. A second stringer or a rookie who finally gets to start plays against us and does better than we'd like.

Pretty sure the scrubs would play good against us before our defensive overhaul.

I think the Broncos would trade him rather than release him because they can get something back and make sure he doesn't end up in, say, Kansas City. What team with a crummy QB wouldn't give it a shot for a mid round pick?

Presuming it's a trade, I would think the Broncos would not trade within the conference, though the Jets and Bills would be good destinations for Manning with solid rosters except at QB.

Regardless of the outcome you'll outplay the other guy. The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the NFL Cutler is a starting caliber QB.

Can you imagine the angst if former Broncos QB Cutler had actually won that game?

Just what we need -- Manning/Montana comparisons.
