Football motivation: Harbaugh vs. Belichick (merged)

I was wondering about that. But in fairness -- maybe he was defending against some sort of hypothetical fake?

Wouldn't be surprised at all if he outsmarted himself. I mean, it's Terrell Suggs, it shouldn't be that hard. ;)

Great thread, I had not read that story about Gonzalez before. And Harbaugh wow. What is the over under on years he remains HC?

What's the over/under that he's gonna be a senile old man still cursing BB for those trick plays?

Does the Ravens 2-7 record have anything to do with the fact they are treated like little girls by their coach?

I remember that story. Basically BB in a nutshell. That story should be plastered to every coaches wall in their office.
No it should not. One of them might get it.

Not just the player -- it's also his coaching.

When a QB has the running -- and passing :) -- skills of Julian Edelman, do you sell out to rush him, or do you keep contain?

I think #55 made the wrong choice(s), but if he either was coached to play it that way or else not seriously coached about a flea flicker at all, then the way he played is excusable.

For some reason I feel that it's your latter option :D

Stickers and participation banners.......the New NFL
Pretty soon the NFL will have a 32 team playoff format so as not to harm anyone's sense of self importance.
Get the Selfie Sticks ready

Are we really certain what those Ravens stickers are for?

The ESPiN story has a picture showing the stickers, but it's hard to make out what graphic is actually printed on them. Looks like an exploding black heart???

Talk about the reek of desperation.

Never mind how ridiculous and juvenile this is, imagine how the players must feel. They all probably feel they're suddenly back in 3rd grade.

I thought "good job!" stickers were some patronizing ******** back in 2nd grade. Can only imagine how Joe Flacco feels about getting a bunch of them now.

Ahahahaha i love it.

Look what the pats are doing to their enemies....runner up banners in indy and now effort stickers in baltimore. This is great stuff. Hope rex is next or maybe woody johnson and the jets

I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank.

Wow, stealing one right out of the Colts playbook.

Harbaugh can give them Lolipops for all I care, all I know is that winter is coming and someone needs to get that status of Ray Lewis a bloody white jacket to keep him warm.

We had some friends over here to watch the Pats-Giants game (we live in MD). One of our friends is a diehard Skins fan (yes, has been miserable for 2 decades). Even a week after the fact, he was still fuming about when the Pats did the 1st quarter onside kick against the Skins, he went beserk claiming what they did was despicable and not what should be done by a "respectable" team.

It was as if he was upset at the hurt feelings of it all.

Everyone at the party that day learned what Patriot Derangement Syndrome meant.

Just ask him if it was a horrible, unsporting thing to do when the Saints did it to the Colts in the Super Bowl. If he says yes, press him on it since that call likely won the Saints the game. If he says no, then point out that the only reason this is different is because he doesn't think his own team had any chance to win in the first place. Kind of a no-win.

Funny, I was thinking about that very same analogy a day later (ain't that always the case?).

He DID mention, though, that he was upset because the Patriots did that knowing the Redskins had "zero chance" in the game.

I told him directly that what separates New England from every other team on earth is that BB and the Patriots don't know the meaning of the term "zero chance".

He stared blankly (and continues to buy Snyder's merchandise).

Wow, what a loser mentality. He'd fit right in in the Colts' FO. I mean, I guess I get it, pretty hard not to adopt one was a Redskins fan, but at a minimum at least any given Sunday should apply.
