2016 Draft Prospect Thread

Saw a lot of the Indiana/Michigan game. Impressed by IU LT Jason Spriggs 6'7" 306lb. They mauled a good Michigan run defense. They mentioned he can run a 4.8. Showed that athleticism to get outside the
box on run plays. Not much drop-back passing. Hard to judge pass-blocking

Is the indiana qb nate sudfled related to pre-season amazo Zach sudfeld?

For first time this spring, NFL expected to allow teams to begin trading compensatory draft picks, per NFL sources. Should be more trades. Thats a game chancer long term really, those teams who "create" comp picks suddenly getting free ammo. Talking about Ravens, Packers, Pats and Miners.

I had Southern Utah safety Miles Killebrew in my latest mock. So this quote is relevant to me.

The scoop: "He's a better football player than Shaq Thompson and Deone Bucannon were when they came out." -- Area scout on Southern Utah safety Miles Killebrew

The skinny: That is high praise -- Thompson and Bucannon both were first-round picks. However, we're not surprised to hear such talk about Killebrew, who has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl. He jumps off the tape and has a chance to be a name you'll hear a lot leading up to the draft. Killebrew has good size at a little under 6-2 and 230 pounds. He's been clocked at 4.45 in the 40. Everything we hear is that his character is impeccable.

Scout: I don't think QB Hackenberg is ever going to be accurate - NFL.com

This years draft class is going to be bad.

I am getting a feeling it will be bad for first rounders. I don't feel like the top prospects are there this time. I am getting the feeling if you need to be without a 1st round pick this is not going to be a bad year.

Much can happen still, but it doesn't look like a deep draft as the last 2 years. Ok you have WR, where you might find value below top 120 but thats about the only position.

D-Line is pretty good too. We don't need help there though.:(

Should we just pencil in kenan Reynolds with our 7th rounder now?

Will BB be able to resist the sweet discipline of a navy grad?

Seriously, it sucks we lost a 1. But I don't think it is going to hurt to bad with this years draft class. I agree with you, this years first rounders are not looking to great. We will see tho..

What are your thoughts on Carl Nassib - DE - PSU? He's a former walk-on who is playing like an
all-american and day 2 draft pick. PSU's has two very good DT's which make it easier for him. I'm
kinda shocked how good he's playing. Curious what others think.

Can't say anything about him as a player, but he is the younger brother of Giants
backup QB Ryan Nassib.

Best CB I've seen so far is Oklahoma State's Kevin Peterson. Excellent in press, very good open field tackler and very sticky when running deep with a WR. I don't know how he is athletically but he's my highest graded CB that I've watched so far (still a way to go though).

A lot is going to depend on the underclass men, there's some good ones but the Senior class isn't great.

Trey Flowers counts as a "one more" as he hasn't played a snap yet. Quite excited by what he showed in pre-season.

I don't disagree though - I think Chris Jones and Siliga are upgradeable and Jonathan Bullard would be a tremendous fit for what we do.

Ah, the draft forum. It is almost that time of year. Haven't look into the class much, but first look potential binkies:

Tyler Matakevich LB Temple - awesome football player, may not test well at combine
Travin Dural WR LSU - he impressed me the one time I watched him. He doesn't really have a QB and rankings have him outside the top 2 rounds. Seems like a realistic WR option.
Kelvin Taylor RB Florida - he runs better than his stats. I think he'll be a better pro than college player like his former teammate Matt Jones.

I don't know what the draft has to offer at CB yet. I'm fine with Butler/Ryan/Roberts/Coleman and maybe a mid/low tier FA. Butler is on his way to superstardom.

Question regarding RB - Have BB ever draftet a RB under 220 LBs, not talking about 3D back ??

Presumably you're counting White and Vereen as 3rd down backs. If so, then excluding those two,, you're looking at JR Redmond in 2000 at 213lbs.
