5-6 199 is beefy.

There was a player back in the 80s named Lionel " Little Train" James. He was 5-6 but about 20 lbs lighter Fast dude. Very good player for SD

Remember Charlie Tolar?

5'6" 210!!!!!

Maurice Jones-Drew was 5'6 7/8 and 210 lbs..

Sproles is also 5-6

Patriots Work Out Free-Agent Running Back, Ex-49er Kendall Hunter
4th round pick in 2010 only 5'6" 199 lbs and did not have big receiving numbers but solid runner before the requisite ACL on 7/14 with 4.6 ypc for 3 years.

Very smart to take a look at Hunter.

He suffered an horrible Injury back in the 2013 Final Four, but it's now been almost 2 Years ~ and Yankee Theory states that it usually takes 18 Months ~ so if it's finally healed correctly ~ and that's a big If, because the Miners didn't think so 10 Weeks ago ~ then he would be a phenomenal Weapon to have.

LaMichael James is a free agent currently. Does anyone have any thoughts about him? Presumably ball security and pass pro are probably the biggest reasons the Pats don't seem to have shown any interest. Aside from those areas however, he does have Lewis like skills with ball in hand.

I don't want any running backs that can't block because that how you injure your QB. That said, for a guy as big as Blount he is really not a great blocker or short yardage back. What does he do well besides break a couple runs a game. Lewis, for his size, really blocked well.

Thanks for correcting his injury date. I agree the whole deal is whether he is healthy. If so, this would be a great situation (and not entirely unlike Lewis'). Are you in SF btw?

Don't the 2 runs against the Rams (at 0:16 seconds) remind you of Lewis? (sort of)

Re: pass protection - LaMichael James put on a blocking display against the San Diego Chargers

Re: fumbles - 1 rushing (44 att), 1 kick return (28 att), 2 punt return (23 att)

Part of my Spirit is, Brother Herron, for I am a Son of Liberty, but I am born and raised a Blue Blooded Yankee from Massachusetts ~ with of course a brief Sojourn to Planet X, of which I am now Emperor.

Tremendous Eye, as always, Brother Manx. None I admire more.

I don't get the Warm & Fuzzies from James, though. I believe that Security and Pass Pro can be learned if the guy is willing, and while I'd give mediocre Grades for James in both Aspects, I don't get the sense that he's adverse to either. Yet I also get that sort of squidgy ~ SunDog Reference!!

~ "I don't trust'm" feeling, overall: I don't think that he's a flat out Whimp, but neither do I get the sense that he brings the voracious Appetite for Combat that you need to succeed at this Level: I get the sense that he'll always be On The Fringe and will flash occasional bouts of Greatness, but that you'll never quite be able to count on'm.

Better left alone.

This will only happen if Fauria learns the playbook and shows he can block better than Chandler.. Otherwise, I don't see it happening unless there is an injury..
