NFL Week 12 Early Advanced Lines: Patriots favored by 5.5 at Denver Broncos

John Morgan

While Rex Ryan is proving he can dish it out but can't take it in anticipation for Monday night's game between the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, Vegas has published their early advanced 'look ahead' lines for NFL week 12. On Thursday the Westgate in Las Vegas listed the Pats as 5½ point road favorites for next Sunday night’s game against the Broncos at Mile High in Denver. This week the Broncos are in Chicago to face the 4-5 Bears.

The largest spread for the week involves another home ‘dog, with Arizona listed as 8-point favorites at San Francisco. On the other end of the spectrum are two pick ’ems. Surprisingly undefeated Carolina is even at two-win Dallas in the middle of the three Thanksgiving Day games; the other pick'em is an NFC East rivalry game on Sunday between the Giants and Washington.

Dallas might just beat Carolina on Thanksgiving! We'll just have to wait & see!

Pats Broncos line could change in either direction depending on how Osweiler plays this week and Goober's availability.

big number..lets see who we have available next sunday.
our players are dropping like flies.

They don't know who is playing QB. Might be a good time to jump on this and make some $$. Going to be a close game no matter who plays QB.

I've put money on the Pats every game this year. I'm ahead so far but man, **** the Jets for that 55 yard FG and the Colts the week after with a garbage time TD otherwise it would only be the Giants game where I didn't win $$.

Such is gambling. But over the last few years money on the Pats to cover has felt like a better investment than middle east coffin makers.

I will take that 5.5 and run to the closest casino. This weeks line of 7 scares me a lot more than Brock or the corpse of manning past.

Didnt see a thread for this yet sorry if i missed it, I think people are in for a surprise if they're expecting a blowout. Denver will be motivated for this one and play harder than they have all year and that's a tough place to play.

Need Dola to play. Line was awful last night and is going to have to play better especially if it's just Harper LaFell and Gronk. Thought White looked good last night and can be close to Vereen lvl.

I'd much prefer Peyton were playing. Osweiler looked solid the other night. It's going to be a real grinder. Could down to Gost again.

Patriots offense will likely struggle, all things considered.

Osweiler looked OK …

But I have to think that, unlike the Bears, the Patriots will be aware that tight ends, generally, are eligible receivers.

both defenses will dominate. whoever's offense does slightly better will win.

Wow, do we really have fans here 'expecting a blowout'? We're going to a venue where we've historically had problems winning, playing a team that's 8-2, and we're missing a bunch of our offensive players and one of our best defenders. The blowout predictors are a pretty optimistic bunch ;)

I agree with the OP that we'll see a defensive battle, with one or 2 plays likely deciding it. Both offenses have replacement parts in key positions right now, and the 2 defenses are at the top of the rankings. Hopefully the Pats can find a running game on offense, and shut down Denver's inexperienced QB on defense.

Who the hell is expecting a blow out? We have like NO receivers left. This will be a dog fight from hell. I am really hoping our D can step up and help us win this one.
Saw some people say that, granted it was before last night.

Man even before last night is pretty bold...really sucks about Dola. Hoping for a miracle and he will be fine.

It's all going to come down to the O-Line. If the Buffalo game was a sign of things to come we're in trouble, but I'm guessing it had a lot to do with three guys playing their first games back from injury causing communication issues. If they can straighten those out, I think Brady can do "enough" with Gronk, LaFell, Harper, White, and hopefully Amendola to get us to at least 24 points. This defense is more than capable (Collins or no Collins) to hold Denver under 20.

Going to be tough, especially up there. And with a short week, I'm mentally preparing myself for anything really.

True, they need to fix that O-Line, it was atrocious last night

broncos ran for 170 yards on the bears and only could muster 17 points.

broncos ain't running for 170 yards against this Pats defense, especially if Collins is back.

Not only that, but Osweiler threw for 250 yards and no pick... and they still only scored 17.

If you run for 170, don't make mistakes and STILL only score 17 points, you are not a very good offense. The Pats D should keep them under 20 easily. Hopefully we get enough bodies on O to score 20+, their D is probably the toughest one we will face all year.
