OT: Doug Flutie's parents both die on the same day

Such sad news, Doug is strong. He will always be one of my biggest heroes. When I had a horrible time recently and thought life was just a cruel game I watched Doug's A Football Life. It reminded me a 5'9 guy was starting NFL QB one of only 32 people at the time, things always get better. If someone can make me feel that way without living that experience. He can get by.

My dad's parents died within a year of one another - both on his birthday.

That has to be some of the ****tiest luck I've seen. I hope you dad was strong during that time.

My mom died last year. Dad died six year before she did however she never recovered from losing him.
So sorry for Doug and his extended family so I shall pray for them.

I saw this and it's just awful...I lost my dad last year. I can't imagine losing my mother like that...sad world sometimes

Died of a broken heart after her partner passed...

I've heard this happens often to couples who have been together for a long time.

Oh, so sad, but at the same time there is something tragically beautiful about a married couple moving on together. I hope the family can take some solace in the knowledge that they are still together.
