Call me crazy, but I think the implication is "sports hero," not lifesaver. Not sure I'd make him a hero.
He did his job.
Is that heroic?

I dunna know. He looked like he lined up the ballcarrier and decided to blindside the OLineman trailing the play instead.I'm looking at that GIF and my first thought is he just wanted to take the guard out so another one of his player could tackle the runner instead of taking on the block, getting pushed back and not able to shed the block? I would need to see earlier in the play to see if Browner could have easily eluded the guard.
You know what? Since our shutdown corner left, we have been OK. That guy was more money -- a lot more money. No doubt he has helped the jets, but we have two more wins than we did at this time last year. I never second guess our front office.
I wonder if Matt knew how big we won. I think I know what he'd have said:
"It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Yamamoto had everything going for him, power, experience, confidence...Were we better than the Japanese, or just luckier?"
Maybe he had bad game cause he wore a cast on his hand.Whelp I was 100% wrong on that decision. Coleman had a bad game but, I think he'll bounce back.
I always felt Browner was a great situational player but was highly overrated as a full-time corner. He is solid against big wr's who aren't very quick and is great on the goal line and short yardage (the Butler play had a lot to do with him) because he can jam and play physical. He certainly has a place on a lot of teams, including this one, as a solid role player. He is just not a real cover corner.
Against big WRs he's better than Coleman. Against average size and quick WRs I would rather have Coleman. And I'm not so sure that I want Browner lining up in the slot. I think that he's at his best when he plays on the perimiter because of his size that makes it very hard for a QB to just throw it over him.The main point is one I haven't seen addressed on this thread, which is that Browner is better than Justin Coleman or Rashaad Melvin as the #3. He's not having a good season on a bad Saints defense, but he had an okay season for the Pats last year and a really good tenure with the Seahawks. So if he gets released, I say sign him for less money because there's no other way to get a potential upgrade to the #3 corner position. Some seem to think Coleman is okay, but I haven't been impressed at all watching him. The guy let a receiver catch a touchdown on a post route in the end zone when he was specifically set up on the inside to take that route away.
No thanks on Browner
I disagree. Browner is what Browner is, and thats not what the saints are attempting to use him for. He was perfect in going up against players like Demaryius Thomas & Calvin Johnson. Do any of you remember what he did to DT in the first half of the Denver game last year, he straight beat him up, threw him on the ground at least 6-8 times, and made his life living hell. By the time the 2nd half came around, he was useless, exhausted! Thats what Browner is good for. Lets not forget his importance in covering Matthews in the 2nd half of the SB. Im not even going to talk about his role in the interception that sealed the game for us. If we could get browner back at a Vet minimum, I would easily welcome him back. Not saying he would jump into our CB#2 role, but he could be used in certain situations, and against tall players in the red zone.
