Ya I know. F*** PFF but this isn't when of their out of the air ratings

Question...was last year Edelmans only season that he played in all games? I am pretty sure it was no? So i would say keep him...just based on his previous injury past. I know they are different..but since last playoffs he has really stepped it up

Well amendola has a chance here to see what he can do. We will see if he can step it up higher.

5 mil next year doesn't seem outrageous if he keeps playing the way has has since the second half of last year. Problem is he will be 31. Not an easy call.

The Patriots will figure out the money, but keeping him is a no brainer. He has been as clutch as it gets, wants to be here and gives them redundancy when Edelman goes down. Amendola is a winner and is dangerous in multiple roles and you can't have enough of those.

Actually, 2013 was the only year he played in all games. He missed 2 even last year. So it's funny to hear all the questions about Amendola as an injury risk while ignoring Jules's history.

As for money, the cap going up has already been mentioned. One other thing to consider is dead money. He's around $6.9M if he's on the team, $2.7M if he's not because of his signing bonus being pro-rated. So really, it's about a $4M difference on the cap to keep him on the roster instead of not. At that price, as a guy who can step in for Jules or step out on his own, well worth it.

Amendola has nothing to prove when it comes to clutch, what he needs to do is stay healthy because they really need him down the stretch. That's a lot to ask of a slot receiver, especially one who returns kicks but the knock has always been durability and he can help dispel it by filling the hole left by Edelman and Lewis. If he does this won't be a question.

Big fan. I think DA is an asset NE would love to keep around. But $ will decide. If DA asks for too much, there are other needs to fill using that money. One thing's for sure : thank goodness he's on the team THIS year !

Ahh that's right

Which 2 did Jules miss? Can't remember them.

and keep in mind he's not "just" a WR either - he's a decent return man.

Amendola is best punt returner in the league this year.

As I try to keep reminding people - DA is an elite ST player. I cant seem to say it enough as people just keep forgetting.

This rat still trying to make up for telling us Brady is rubbish and finished?

He'll redo his deal to stay.

Has family in Mass and his gf works for CSNNE.

As useful as this post was, I don't think his GF working for CSNNE really carries any weight. The average Salary for a news reporter is 38k a year, even if he could get 600k- 1 Million more, that would be her salary for 20 years. lol I think her moving with him is much more likely. lol

He missed the last two games of the season against the Jets and Bills. The Jets game was due to concussion. I can't remember if he was cleared to play and held out as a precaution against the Bills or if he needed an extra week.

Danny Amendola has 40 catches in 9 games. Needs 30 in 7 games (an average of 4.28 a game) to reach 70. If he reaches 70, he earns his 750,000 NLTBE incentive making it LTBE for 2016. His 2016 cap number then goes to 7,616,666. Edelman and Lafell's 2016 cap hits total $8,096,875.

Put into perspective, Revis makes $16M this year which is more than all three proven receivers combined at $15.7M for next year. WR Calvin Johnson's cap # is $20M this year, and AJ Green is $14.7M.

Frankly, I don't think the team wanted him to stay. I think they loved him, but they we're ready to move on.
I am sure they'd have had him back if he was willing to play for next to nothing, aside from that unlikely scenario I agree with you that they were not interested in having him back. I think last season was his swan song and they overpaid to give him that like they did with Branch, Brown, and Faulk in their last seasons here.

He will reach 70 with ease with Edelman out, it's 5 catches per game, he is averaging 4.44 per game right now with Edelman on the field.

With Edelman's absence it is a given that Amendola is going to have a career year with around 80 catches and 800-900 yards.

Amendola has been Troy Brown 2.0 since the end of last season. I cannot recall any time he didn't catch a ball in his general vicinity during crunch time.

I love having him around here, especially with Edelman healthy. The absence of a reliable fourth option has hurt us in the past.

Well, I know he missed the Bills game because all the skill guys did. I think he would have played in that one if they'd needed the game.
