What I think is funny is the pundits and others seem to feel that the offensive line is in dire straits. With them all back healthy they are down 1...1 lineman who while good isn't all pro. Big whoop. This line was bound to get healthy at some point and then what? The experience that Stork and others got will be invaluable as the season goes along.
Yeah, and Vollmer's been just as good at LT as Solder was, I think. It's really just how far a drop off it is from Vollmer to Cannon at RT, which isn't too bad.

Vollmer would be most teams starting left tackle. The Pats were smart to get both he and Solder under contract. Vollmer can play LT, I like Fleming/Cannon at RT, IF Jackson is ready, does Stork move back to center? Andrews has played great, but he has been overmatched at times.

As for Collins, we had a bug go through my office. People were sick for weeks because this flu went straight to their lungs. Took them over 3 weeks to completely recover after rounds of antibiotics for the bronchitis it caused. So that's my guess of what's going on. I haven't had the flu in 3 years, but it's not something you forget. When its the TRUE flu, it knocks you on your ass bad and lingers.
I had that last April. Honestly thought I was going to die from it.

Wasn't Cannon playing at LT and Vollmer at RT after Solder got injured? I'd expect them to go back to that again if they're both healthy now.

Can someone post that funny characters thingy so we can tell if this is a living person and not a bot?

Excellent. Without Edelman, Brady may not be able to get the ball out in 2 seconds or less as consistently as he did at the beginning of the season. The VaGiants were getting pressure on him when he had to hold the ball so it's good that the OL is rounding back into form.

I couldn't resist. :D

Now a week of arguing who starts where!

LT: Vollmer or Cannon.
RT: Vollmer, Cannon, or Fleming. Not Stork.
C: Andrews or Stork.
G: Kline, Mason, Jackson, Stork, or Andrews.

It will be interesting when everyone is really ready.

My preference is :

Cannon, Mason, Stork, Kline, Vollmer

but as long as everyone stays healthy I can't complain about any combination.

Why oh why did pundits think that our line was in dire straits last week when we had all three of our OT's not playing. Perhaps, just perhaps, because the OL was indeed in dire straits.

You have pointed out that we are OK with THREE players returning, including the two top OT's on the roster, and you think that our OL wasn't in dire straits when the pundits said so before last week's game. I think that we were in dire straits and that the game was a close one primarily because of the play of the OL.

Thanks a lot for posting this, I hadn't seen any news on him at all. Totally agree with those who posted their view that it would be fine to ease him back from this type of situation. One of the many benefits of being on top of the standings. Sometimes you'll see people dismissing the potential value of getting a lead by mid season but this could be an example of a hidden benefit of that position.

I don't think that Jackson is one of our four top interior linemen. I expect us to start Mason, Andrews and Stork. I expect Jackson to be inactive.

Funny I would put Stork back at C and Kline at RG. Andrews vs Kline - I go with Kline

No coleman though...thats the bad news. Hopefully its just a rest day. We need everyone in the secondary

In my command and conquer voice: Reinforcements have arrived.:)

Wow, you might be right. Given last week, my instinct is to keep every healthy OL active. We can't have too many. Perhaps sit a couple of the 27 safeties. (I know, I know, special teams.)

But you might be right, looking at the numbers, if they go with 7 active, including one interior and one T.

I'd like Vollmer to remain at LT from Monday until the last day of this season. Cannon/Flemming at RT. Literally both taking turns. The interior should be somewhere they sub in/out as well. I liked the fact they were getting guys in there pre-injuries and it obviously worked AND ended up being some crucial reps.
